Why the Greens Hate Nuclear Power

Let's stretch our imaginations for a moment and assume that the left is right that global warming will bring apocalyptic warming by the end of the century and that the only way to save the planet from extinction is to stop using fossil fuels right now. That will be a spectacular disruption to world economic prosperity, because cheap fossil fuels account for about two-thirds of all electric power generation and at least 80 percent of transportation fuel.

But if we did stop using fossil fuels, what would make the most sense as a mass-scale substitute to coal, natural gas and oil? What could reduce carbon emissions while also keeping energy affordable and reliable?

If you answered "wind and solar power," you flunk. These are the most expensive and impractical alternatives. The obvious solution to keeping the world's cellphones, computers, homes and factories powered up with minimal economic disruption, if it ever came to that, would be for the world to build hundreds of nuclear power plants.

Well that's just crazy talk. The ecowankers hate ALL power. They just want us to take the lead and give it up for the sake of muvver erf. Once WE give up all the modern devices and life enhancing things and die, then they'll be able to frolic naked in the woods with the lions and tigers and bears and wolves. Glorious eh?

The leftists think that the principal reason why the populations of Western countries do not bring them to power, as Karl Marx had predicted they would, is that the people simply have it too good, because the economies are fine, more or less.

So, the solution is to bring Western economies down to 3rd world level. Surely, then the wretched proletarian masses will, at last, understand why they need to bring the commies to power.

Global warming is a wonderful pretext to take trillions of dollars from the economy and blow them on useless nonsense like “cooling the planet,” thus making people poorer.

Now, if nuclear power appears to be a solution to the alleged CO2 emission problem, it is a threat to the Great Plan. So, it must be demonized at all costs…

I don’t believe that they really do oppose it for “Green” reasons. They were stone silent as Barack Obama was hellbent on seeing that Iran have nuclear power plants.

When I brought it up online on facebook I was told that Israel this and that.

WRONG answer.

No Nukes was a damn lie by Commie entertainers.

Leftist environmentalists seek to inhibit economic growth. They view growth as the equivalent of more pollution. Reliable cheap electricity is essential for economic growth and prosperity. Without it there is grinding poverty, misery, social and political instability. The Left must be opposed and defeated.

When you bring a country down to third/turd world level, you have lost your independence. Cannot travel. Cannot own your farm. You are dependent on the welfare state for your day to day existence.

People starve in Africa because they live under dictatorships and corrupt systems.

Nothing grows in North Korea? Or nothing is permitted to grow in North Korea?

I have never understood how those forrests of windmills and acres of solar panels never seem to get the same environmental scrutiny as other large construction projects especially power plants. Multi million dollar projects have often been halted over fears that some threatened fish, fowl or insect might be disturbed. Yet windmills which are known to chop up birds including bald eagles and solar plants which incinerate any winged creature that cross their path seem to be ignored from environmental scrutiny.

I’m not at all for nuclear as currently implemented ,, by all means get the most out of existing plants but in the future we need to go with the more modern designs that can use up the current “depleted” waste fuel... break up the electricity monopolies and make energy really cheap.

They also would never accept the amount of methane (flatulence) created by 100 million horses. Nope, it’s gonna have to be bicycles for sure.

France relies on nuclear. However, the government recently announced the closing of about 1/2 of their plants because of their greenie psychosis. It should be interesting to observe the effects of their folly. LOL. Watch them die.

It makes sense when you read this article:

Treasury Dept Asked To Investigate Reports That Russia Funneled Millions To US Environmental Groups.

Who benefits from shutting down US coal? Who benefits from shutting down fracking? The answer is: foreign oil producers like Russia and the Saudis.

Hmmm. Well if the french were to use bicycle generators, the frogs could employ lots of new french citizens for peddle power. Plus it would keep them in better shape too.

What’s great is that there’s a new generation of nuclear startups that are going to do the same thing to the dinosaur nuclear companies that SpaceX is doing to the dinosaur space industry.

Smaller, completely safe, standardized nuclear reactors that don’t require water cooling will be a game-changer.

One such company is Thorcon Power:

http://thorconpower.com/

“ThorCon requires less resources than a coal plant. Assuming efficient, evidence based regulation, ThorCon can produce reliable, carbon free, electricity at between 3 and 5 cents per kWh depending on scale.”

Hey, the enviro-whackos don’t even want us burning diseased tree-fall.
(hence the wildfires)

Its all part of the Population Control, dirt-firsters movement.
