JERUSALEM (JTA) — Two hundred French Jews arrived in Israel on a special aliyah flight.
The flight organized by The Jewish Agency for Israel, the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption, and Keren Hayesod-UIA arrived in Israel on Monday.
Among the new immigrants to Israel were 74 children and teens. The youngest immigrant is two and a half months old and the oldest, 92, is making aliyah with his daughter and her husband.
The immigrants were greeted by Chairman of the Executive of The Jewish Agency for Israel Natan Sharansky, Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver, former Chief Rabbi of Israel and current Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem Shlomo Amar, and Chairman of Keren Hayesod-UIA Eliezer Sandberg.
The French Jewish community is the largest in Europe and the second-largest in the world outside of Israel, numbering nearly half a million Jews, according to the Jewish Agency. French Jewish immigration to Israel has surged since the year 2012, breaking records for aliyah from France and from Western countries. Some 7,800 immigrants from France arrived in 2015, the most ever. Over 10% of the French Jewish community has immigrated to Israel since the year 2000, half in the past five years alone, according to the Jewish Agency.
Immigration from France dropped in 2016 over difficulties faced by new immigrants in finding employment and having their credentials recognized.
Israel’s Health Ministry last week agreed to recognize French medical degrees.

Didn't realize 10% of France's recent Jewish population has already fled.
FR is getting harder to use day by day. Pages do not load completely I can’t get more than a dozen headlines on a load and can only get a few comments and none if a longish piece is posted. This problem does not occur at any other site so it is most likely FR. I hat that because replacing FR requires going to multiple other sites. Previously I could play with the refresh and eventually get a whole page. Today I get what I get, no more.
This “gathering in” has been going on for over a hundred years.

The Jewish population of today’s France well remember the events of the 1930s and 1440. The lessons of that awful time are well remembered and today’s European well see the similarities. The lessons remembered and learned are heeded and a people FLEES before the storm arrives.
Adolph Hitler could not destroy France from without, but today France will self-destruct from WITHIN, as will much of Europe.
While visiting Paris two years ago I spent most of a day in the city’s largest Jewish neighborhood. It was regularly patrolled by heavily armed squads of soldiers. Synagogues were fortified bunkers. All I could think was “get out now”.
The hordes of Mohammedans are establishing their European Caliphate.
