Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya's meeting with Donald Trump Jr last June was part of a larger, multi-pronged lobbying campaign in Washington last year launched by Veselnitskaya's boss, a Russian real estate mogul who was facing U.S. money laundering charges.

So, James Comey settled with a Russian money-launderer who helped him set up the Trumps with "Russia" in order to justify a FISA warrant.

Crime DOES pay!!

When do these FISA Warrants become “public”?

What's the basis for you not using the article title for the thread title?

Neither Comey or even the FBI is mentioned once in the article. The article states that US Attorney Preet Bhrarara's office made the settlement deal and he worked in the DOJ under Loretta Lynch.

“At that point the case was under the supervision of Preet Bhrarara, the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan who was fired by Donald Trump in March.”

I know from my Reid investigation that Preet Bhrarara was corrupt or incompetent on the online gaming case where Reid took a big bribe.

The article also mentions Ron Dellums, another Dem swamp creature.

At the heart of the matter...without Russian government involvement, what you have is the Russian billionaire core...sitting out in Cyprus, that has accusations of money-laundering and this US law (freshly on the books) that was being used by Preet Bhrarara to dig at the money-crew.

For whatever reason, they think it’s in the best interest to give a visa to this gal and let her into the US to discuss matters. She’s only there to talk over lessening the public law, and getting the money-laundering aspect tossed out. I get the impression that she was getting nowhere with Bhrarara or the Justice Department....so she figured to go and test the waters with the Trump team and see if she could entice them into a special deal.

We are back to stage one...it’s not Russian government involvement, and there’s no hacking theme to this story. Just accusations of money-laundering, which was all created by the Obama Administration...NOT the Trump folks.

I have another perspective on this ...

Maybe the $230 million case was settled for only $6 million in May 2017 because the work of all of these shady characters and their U.S. Justice Department handlers to compromise the Trump campaign last year would have come to light if the case had gone to trial.

Trump needs to setup another council to work in parallel to the current Russia one.

My post only made the point that (contrary to the retitling of the thread) the article does not say anything about Comey or the FBI.

But the article did say that Bharara & Lynch's DOJ did agree to a settlement of the charges of hundreds of millions in unpaid tax for a mere $6m.

So why did the DOJ give her and her clients such a sweet deal? Did she to return the favor in some way?

No kidding. The US Attorneys work through th AG. FBI personnel often work with them on investigation, but they have no say in the actual prosecution or settlement terms.

You are right — I forgot about using the title of the article as the title of the thread. The way the posting is set up I thought the title came later.

The meetings between the Trumps and the Russian lawyer were organized by the DOJ as part of a plea agreement to settle a money-laundering case with a Russian. Those meetings were also used to justify getting a FISA warrant to spy on on the Trumps. Yes, Preet’s NYC office was where the settlement took place, but all of this is under the DOJ and the FBI had to be involved because of the money-laundering aspect and the FISA warrant.

But doesn't the FBI shelter the DoJ using the "no reasonable prosecutor" widget? If Comey had a hold of this investigation, maybe he would have kept it out of the DoJ altogether, and there would not be this sweetheart deal.

BTW, I'm being sarcastic.

Exactly. Trump fired Comey and Preet in MAY 2017.

Will any of this come up in the alternate universe of liberal media? I seriously doubt it.

The un-Constitutional “Special Counsel, filled as it is with corrupt ‘Rat/Deep State operatives, is extremely dangerous to Trump and our Republic.

Mueller MUST be dealt with if Trump’s Presidency is to survive.

They also let her into the country without a visa.

She was attempting to do DOJ a favor, along with her client, because the meeting with the Trumps, even without anything further, alone would justify a FISA warrant. That was at least part of the payoff and why her client gets a sweet deal.

Nope. The media is too busy protecting Comey and the other leakers as they try to take down Trump.

Think of what will come to light if they don’t.
