Maybe the $230 million case was settled for only $6 million in May 2017 because the work of all of these shady characters and their U.S. Justice Department handlers to compromise the Trump campaign last year would have come to light if the case had gone to trial.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I like your perspective. makes sense

They didnt even have to collude.

They just used the suspected money laundering angle to secure a FISA surveillance tap so they can listen to what what was being said in the Trump camp, then Susan Rice unmaskes all their players so The Cankle/Bammy knows who is who.

Trump’s private security caught the surveillance as soon as it went active and Team Trump started feeding bogus info to the FISA tap listeners from the very beginning.

THEN, Trump won the election.

My post only made the point that (contrary to the retitling of the thread) the article does not say anything about Comey or the FBI.

But the article did say that Bharara & Lynch's DOJ did agree to a settlement of the charges of hundreds of millions in unpaid tax for a mere $6m.

So why did the DOJ give her and her clients such a sweet deal? Did she to return the favor in some way?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

my read was the case was settled in May 2017, after bharara had been fired, which would have been "trump/sessions" justice dept.

No. I believe Russians behind it. Then we learned of it because of surveillance

For deep state someone had to been working as asset..or duped by an asset. Its plausible. ..but history of parties leads me to believe russia

Some very odd things going on here.

That's an understatement! I'm finding I need the Cliff Notes version or a "family tree" map to understand all the players and the ties they have to Comey, Lynch, and Russia.

Fundamentally altering a published title is a violation of FR rules.

My immediate reaction to this meeting was that it was a setup, or one of a number of setups to justify the FISA warrants. That’s why some are fighting to keep them confidential.

Think about it—we’ve had an unending sequence of innuendos that various close members of Trump’s teams had many unspecified, suspicious activities with Russian operatives. The cabal that drove this would also be the ready source of such rumors, because they new they had more supposed dirt to reveal in the future.

Was Federal Judge Bharara (fired by Trump) involved in this case as well as the one involving Erdogan’s relatives and money laundering with a big Turkish bank?

Coincidence? or Corruption?

New York is a huge banking center and has old history of that.

The President didn’t send *any* US Attorney nominees to the Senate until a month ago. The case would have been handled 100% by Obama appointees and career people.

Sessions would likely have known little about the case. The DAG, who does the actual coordination of prosecution, had only been in office a few weeks. Cases aren’t settled that fast. This would have been a Sally Yates/Lynch decision.

I don’t appreciate this either. Was there any mention of Comey in the article?

Actual title: "Russian oligarch hired lawyer who met Donald Trump Jr and also paid the shadowy research company behind dirty dossier - then settled $230million money laundering case for just $6million".

No mention of Comey or the FBI in the article.

Ny does a lot of money laundering cases

This can clue you into mueller..and who he is hiring..and what he is looking at

Btw NYT has a piece up today about russia offering info to gore..he called fbi. Russia offered to help kennedy...he rebuffed

No mention of bill...seems likely that this is MO of russia...and Bill would have been offered same

When Putin invaded Crimea all of the early moves were by Russians allegedly employed by an Oligarch. So the idea that this Oligarch was campaigning against the magnitsky act to curry favor with and/or on behalf of the Kremlin is totally plausible. That the “lobbyist” lawyer doesn’t speak a word of English is hilarious. Only Russians would be arrogant enough to do that. Even the Chicoms would send an English speaker. LOL.

You’re right. In trying to correct the unsubstantiated retitling of the thread I entirely missed that fact...

...Which makes the premise and title of the thread completely contrary to the point of the article.

The Real Housewives of Russia? 😱

Just as I think I'm catching up, some new twist or connection pops up.

About the only thing I know for sure is Jr. was set up.
