GORE-LICKED: Kushner’s Lawyer Calls It Quits As Russia Probe Heats Up
Daily Caller ^ | July 14 2017 | Kevin Daley

Posted on 07/16/2017 5:20:52 AM PDT by Whenifhow

Jared Kushner’s personal counsel, Jamie Gorelick, said Friday that she is no longer representing the president’s son-in-law and senior aide on Russia-related inquiries.

Abbe Lowell, an attorney at Gorelick’s firm, will take charge of Kushner’s legal team.

“As you may recall, and as we have stated, once Bob Mueller and three of our partners left the firm to form the Special Counsel’s Office [at the Department of Justice], we advised Mr. Kushner to get independent legal advice whether to continue with us as counsel,” Gorelick told the National Law Journal. “As [a] result of this process, Abbe is now responsible for the Russia-related inquiries.”

Bob Mueller practiced at Gorelick’s firm, WilmerHale, before he was tapped by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to serve as special counsel for the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Her departure comes as Kushner has been forced to amend his security clearance application several times, to reflect previously undisclosed meetings with lawyers and political operatives with Kremlin ties.

Gorelick served as Deputy Attorney General during the Clinton administration. She was widely considered the frontrunner for Attorney General had Hillary Clinton prevailed in 2016.

The problem is that KUSHNER has been on “the other side” for years, too.

When she worked for the clinton administration, didn’t she set up “walls” to keep government investigative organizations from sharing information?

while I want to be supportive of the President in every way possible, I am perplexed by this Jared business. I sense that his presence in the Admin is a problem, what with his influence in the Chris Christie matter, the DOJ, his dad’s prosecution, et al. What portfolio has he to be dishing foreign affairs (Israel, State dept). I would feel better if he weren’t anywhere near the WH.

We didn’t elect him.

Most top Republican lawyers have no interest in working in that hive of scum and villainy. You’re more likely to find them in the general counsel roles of major U.S. corporations than dealing with scumbags in Washington D.C.

Anyone who has any interest in maintaining a solid public profile in government would do well to steer clear of anyone from New Jersey.

The only good thing you can say about these jerks is that they're one step above the criminals from Chicago.

You missed the part where Gorelick is stilll his lawyer..as well as Ivanka’s lawyer.

If you are going to pretend that DC only has dem lawyers..you cant pretend that there aren’t other Dem lawyers instead of Gorelick

“When she worked for the clinton administration, didn’t she set up “walls”..”

I could be thinking of someone else but, didn’t she get inserted into a panel to help stonewall the investigation of the flight that exploded off the SE coast many years ago (!) It was the one where the explosion was blamed on the center fuel tank while some witnesses claimed to have seen what looked like a missile heading toward it. If I am wrong I apologize in advance.

+1

It’s more than a lack of interest. It’s the knowledge that DC is not an accommodating place for top notch Republican lawyers. There’s real bias against them. In corporate settings this is not the case. Naturally many of the best Republican lawyers prefer to practice in an environment is amenable to them.

Agree! How could he be so gullible as to trust Jamie Gorelick, a Democrat from way back. And JK’s father has been a donor to the Dems!

I know. I don't understand it though.

Why would Kushner even consider such stupid counsel?

Because he and his wife don't actually support the Deplorable agenda?

What better way than to let your children find out about life the hard way, then they learn...

Ivanka and Jared are members of the ‘elite’ New York Democrat Party...they didn't vote for Trump...

In an interview, they were asked if they were going to change parties to vote for him and Ivanka said she didn't think so...

They have been seen ‘hob knobbing’ with Soros people, just yesterday they were in the Hamptons rubbing elbows with Katherine Harris, the loud mouth, pushy twit that thinks she's going to knock out Our President in 2020...

Jared's brother that now runs the real estate company that their father started accepted millions of dollars from Soros about a month ago...

So it's not surprising that this Jamie Gorlick was hired to represent Jared and possibly Ivanka...

Reap what you sow, Jared and Ivana...quit riding on your father's coat tails and become someone of your own...

Maybe she has a conflict of interest. Could she have helped the previous DOJ in setting up the meeting?

Agreed - her hands are dirty and she’s backing away to avoid being interviewed on this issue.

Gorelick certainly qualifies as poster-girl for DC lawyers. I’m surprised she hasn’t run for high political office. Corruption-wise speaking, she may be overqualified.

“Are you really expecting an answer that is different from what you know in your heart? Trump gives people all the rope they need to fail.”

Yeah, that must be it. Trump let’s Dem operatives into his inner circle simply to let them fail.

Independent thought is fun......just not for everyone.
