I got under some liberals skin once, by noting that LBJ was a Democrat. The war greatly escalated under LBJ. Liberals don’t like to hear inconvenient truths about what some of their own Democrats have done in history.
Lest we forget it was the Democrats holy figure St. John of Kennedy who first sent advisers to Vietnam in the early sixties. Leftist historians are running with the narrative that if JFK had lived we would of gotten out of Vietnam. All speculation on their part, but this was a war started by a Democrat president.
Ya. They didn’t like him very much at the time, either.
Did you know that Kennedy was involved early on too?
“The war greatly escalated under LBJ. “
And Nixon ran on ending the war.
wanna really melt them down?...tell them that it was Kennedy that put 16,000 so called “advisers” in Vietnam, the real American involvement....they really freak.
Lyndon and Lady Bird made a fortune on the Vietnam escalation. LBJ on shipping investments, and Lady Bird on Huey transmissions. With both investments awarded lucrative govt contracts. I’m sure sure other politicians followed suit.
Hands off insider trading and now insurance exemptions are paying/benefiting legislators handsomely, for decades!
Yep, me too. Some of them think it was all on the republican Nixon. When I tell them democrat LBJ was the one that expanded the Vietnam war and Nixon ended it, they don’t believe it.
A recent poll (few years ago) showed that almost 20% of Americans believe that LBJ was behind the murder of JFK.
No matter how big the lies the presstitutes and the gubermint tell, the truth will eventually come out.
LBJ micro managed the War,they allowed unfettered access to Russia and Chinese military supplies for the enemy.
Richard Nixon was elected to END THE WAR,took him awhile but he mined Haiphong Harbor preventing those ships from entering and sent B52s to bomb the crap out of the North, according to North Vietnam military leadership had we continued that level of bombing for just a matter of days more they would have surrendered.
