Exclusive — Mark Meadows: Send Clean Obamacare Repeal to Trump Now, Replacement Later
Breitbart.com ^ | 18 Jul 2017 | Matthew Boyle

House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) is joining with President Donald J. Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in pushing for Congress to send a clean repeal of Obamacare to President Trump’s desk now, and work on the replacement later.

Meadows, who is making the call in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News, joins them as both Trump and McConnell called for clean repeal of Obamacare to go to Trump now and a replacement later after the Senate health bill failed late Monday. When Sens. Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Mike Lee (R-UT) came out against the bill—joining Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Susan Collins (R-ME)—Trump and McConnell called for clean repeal of Obamacare now then a bipartisan replacement plan later.

This is the only reasonable course. The dynamics would be completely different in crafting a new “health care” bill if ObamaScare were completely undone. Not that I think there would be a need for one, but they wouldn’t have to pretend to mend an unmendable faulty foundation.

Not that it would move the legislation in the right direction, but at least the RATs would have to engage.

I disagree.

I think this entire fiasco has been a huge distraction, and that Trump should stop this, and focus on global trade, our southern border, and global hotspots.

He has wasted entirely too much time on this, already.

Just my opinion.

I disagree. This is a huge pocketbook issue. They can’t do nothing.

This is the solution.

It forces a majority to the table for an eventual replacement bill.

This healthcare debate will define the country for generations. If this isn’t done correctly the left will use this and all future healthcare debates to plunge the country into socialism. It is THE issue to be dealt with. A free market solution needs to happen and it needs to happen quickly so the benefits can start to be seen before the next election cycle. This is the debate of our time.

Freedom Caucus has been correct all along. “Establishment” Republicans almost as bad for freedom and liberty as Progressive Dems!

“Just my opinion.”

Isn’t it good that is all it is. Global trade success is dependent on the restructuring of our tax system. With the current parking of US funds overseas to avoid the ridiculous taxes leaves us in a diminished position on the world market. Free it up by the repatriation tax structure of what they are saying to be 8-10% and it all comes back for local investment along with a whole bunch of globull entities wanting to bring their business here.

Without Obamacare emasculated, the tax restructuring is held hostage to it.

Trump can do more than one thing it is the GOP that is in grid lock...

How hard is it to do tax reform..

Do it in parts.

That’s why it won’t happen. None of them, Trump is the exception in Washington, actually wants to solve a problem. They want to run on a problem

disagree with you. I think repeal will boost the economy by freeing up $$$ spent by the un insured middle class on penalties. The illegals on free healthcare would be cut off (Ca), and then the wall will be on the Next budget, as Trump will not sign a bill without the funding.

Gridlocked??? or just bought and paid for by the special interest groups, and are self serving. Notice that they are not on the same healthcare system...If it is so good, why don’t they join it.

YES - repeal Obamacare now!

Make ad hoc adjustments later as needed, such as cross-state insurance, state medicaid reimbursements, Tort reform, etc... none of this needs to be done in a massive 2000 page bill now

Simply REPEAL now.

They can't drop this. Time is of the essence. They have to come up with some kind of "fix" (or repeal) that will result in lower premiums for people when 2018 renewal notices start going out in October and November of this year.

If Congress can't fix this problem through legislative action, then the Trump administration is almost certainly going to exercise its authority under the existing ACA to grant waivers all over the place to encourage insurers to come up with less expensive insurance plans.
