A Muslim candidate for the U.S. Senate in Arizona is being bombarded on her Facebook page by hateful attacks on her faith.
Now Democrat Deedra Abboud is getting support from what might seem to be an unlikely place: Republican Sen. Jeff Flake, the man whose job she wants.
Abboud, an attorney and activist, is believed to be the first Muslim statewide candidate in Arizona history.

As for Flake, he's going to have a Republican primary challenger next year for his seat: Kelli Ward. However, based on our experiences with trying to rid ourselves of John McCain, I'm not optimistic that we can get rid of Flake in 2018.
Unlikely to who?
Arizona appears to be filled with (fill-in-the-blank) voters.
Is it the sun, the heat, or the lack of water?
Crazy...Flake and McNasty
She needs to not run. I like her a lot but she needs to stand aside and let some time pass.
Who is the young Hispanic in the state senate? He is a natural and would take out Flake easily
So Arizona is full of sucky voters, says the person from California, which is a full on plague state.
Muslims are rather closely and rightly identified as scorpions. There are no “harmless” Muslims, they all are but one flash-point away from going all Jihadist.
And you cannot be nice to a scorpion. They do not reciprocate.
Conventional wisdom says it’s the retirees.
Even where I’m at in Cochise County the retirees that don’t vote Democrat seem entirely devoted to McCain regardless of any facts presented to them. There are exceptions of course but the maybe three dozen I have talked with are mostly supporters and can’t get past “he doesn’t take earmarks!” and “viet nam war hero!!!”.
That’s all anecdotal and purely my own observations so take it for what it’s worth.
Maybe SandRat or others have different experiences.
It’s sad because, nothing is going to change under Trump.
Trump’s win will have been a good thing, but not have any bearing on the Muslim takeover.
She should simply be deported.
“Unlikely to who?”
“So Arizona is full of sucky voters, says the person from California, which is a full on plague state.”
I think the point is we all know California, but Arizona holds out hope.
So it’s surprising to see the psychosis there.
Maybe too many people have moved there from California.
She’s Muslim she should be used to hateful attacks ,Oh wait these are at her ,D’oh
Muslims should not be allowed to run for public office. Furthermore, muslims should not be allowed in this country. They’re insidiously injecting themselves into our political system. A slow jihad, if you will. Not good.
It’s open primaries in AZ. Dems know they are going to lose and crossover for the RINOs. Only reason McCain has a job.
Anyone who would vote for a muslim candidate is either an islamist him or herself, or an islmaist facilitator.
There is no third possibility.
I take it they’ve confirmed she is Muslim?
I know an Abboud family. They’re Christians from Syria.
Agree. Islam is not compatible with the Constitution, therefore an oath to support and defend it cannot be trusted. Throw in Taqqiya and its completely unrealistic and ought to be unacceptable, and illegal.
In December 2015, as then-candidate Donald Trump was inflaming rallies with harsh rhetoric toward Muslims, Flake and his family attended the Friday noon service at a Scottsdale mosque.
"I'll bet you never thought you'd see a Mormon speaking in a mosque," he told the worshipers. "This is a surprise to me, too."
I must've been asleep back then 'cause this is the first I've heard of it. Maybe he should invite her to his church. That would be a priceless photo-op. He's going out of his way to prove to us that he's NOT a republican.
Sorry, but they are not open primaries.
