Dumb question - why are seniors enrolled in Medicaid? That’s what Medicare is for. Maybe I’m stupid for not gaming the system.
Big factor - Unlike Medicaid, Medicare does not pay for nursing homes (except for post-hospital rehab up to a certain number of days).
They’re called “dual eligibles” and it has to due with combination of income, disability, and age.
My mom was medi medi. Her income which was only social security wasn’t high enough to disqualify her. You can have both depending on your income. Medi medi is the best insurance to have. It’s double coverage.
