Actually, a Delaware sized chunk of ice shelf broke off. It was never on land and did not crash into the water, as the warmists would have you believe. And as it floats away, the open water behind it will freeze and maybe reattach it, making the largest southern polar ice coverage ever recorded! That story will go unreported.

However, in June 2014, the excess sea ice around Antarctica for those weeks set an all time record high. The extra sea ice, not the total sea, but just the extra sea above what is normally present was larger than the entire area of Greenland!
