We should complain that there is not enough diversity being portrayed in the slaves.

There should be Chinese, Irish, and other Races besides Africans being portrayed as slaves.

The funny thing is that this is Historical FACT!

Handmaids Tale and slavery are in the world today but no one in Hollywood is willing to make a tv series about muslims exposing the reality of Islamic theocracy.

Methinks Rush doth protest too much. Alternate history has been very popular in print and on film. Harry Turtledove did a whole series on the South winning and what followed. “C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America” was a movie that was made about 10 years ago. “Fatherland” was a book and a movie that postulated a Nazi win. “Red Dawn” theorized a war between the U.S. and Russia/Cuba. There isn’t politics behind this, there’s money.

> That’s not even the half of it. Stir up trouble? How about causing trouble? <

Rush is right once again. America is supposed to be a melting pot. Melting pots don’t happen automatically. It takes effort to make it work.

Unfortunately, the media elite have chosen to try to divide us. Bring up old wounds, and then rub salt in them. Make Citizen A hate Citizen B for events that happened long ago.

So why not these shows as well? Make them as bloody and graphic as possible. Get everyone all enraged.

“Massacre I”: The story of how U.S. troops killed innocent Indians. Be sure to show dead Indian babies.
“Massacre II”: The story of how Indian warriors killed white settlers. Be sure to show dead white babies.

“Urban Warfare I”: The story of how rogue white police officers kill innocent black people. Be sure to show dead black children.

The people who have become filthy rich in this country are the ones who rip it to shreds the most. To them, I say, get the f*ck out!

I would support this if they let it be known every second in the show that the slave owners are Democraps. “Hey Democrat Joe, how are ya doin?” “Hey Democrat Dave, you got any n-s to sell me?” “Sure Democrat Joe, I’ll send the right over to your Democrat plantation”

Older kid was begging me to get HBO so she could watch the new season of Game of Thrones. I refused. Not going to put my money into HBO’s hands. And not going to watch any shows or movies with slavery as the main topic or setting or whatever. That shit ended a long time ago and the leftists need to give it a rest and move on. I’ve never held a slave, nor have any of my ancestors.

Slavery would have changed along with society and technology. Today it would be more like an H-1b visa program.

Info from the Borgen Project:
https://borgenproject.org/10-statistics-on-slavery-today/

1. An estimated 29.8 million people live in modern slavery today

2. Slavery generates $32 billion for traffickers globally each year

3. Approximately 78% of victims are enslaved for labor, 22% of victims are enslaved for sex

4. 55% of slavery victims are women and girls

5. 26% of slaves today are children under the age of 18

6. An estimated 60,000 victims of slavery are enslaved in the United States.

The 2013 Walk Free Global Slavery Index places U.S. at 134th out of 162 countries
Rankings were determined based on three factors: a country’s estimated slavery prevalence by population, a measure of child marriage and a measure of human trafficking.

7. Iceland, Ireland and the United Kingdom tied for the ranking of 160 in the 2013 Global Slavery Index. However, even with the top ranking in the survey, these countries are not free from slavery. In the United Kingdom alone, there are an estimated 4,200 to 4,600 victims of slavery.

8. The country with the highest percentage of of its population in slavery is Mauritania with approximately 4% of the total population enslaved. This amounts to roughly 140,000 to 160,000 people enslaved — Mauritania’s total population is only a mere 3.8 million.

9. India has the largest number of slavery victims at a horrifying 14 million.

10. The top 10 per-capita slavery hot spots are:

Mauritania
Haiti
Pakistan
India
Nepal
Moldova
Benin
Cote d’Ivoire
Gambia
Gabon

Hilariously, the BLM set is roasting these guys over this. I love watching liberals fight amongst themselves.

Well, it is quite reasonable to suggest that debt slavery has replaced chattel slavery, so there’s that.

Rush has this wrong. The show will not portray America as a slave state, but as two states, one slave one free. The blacks are already upset.

They should include a look at the Jewish slave traders and the brutal half-black bastards of powerful families who owned the most horrific of the slave operations. Let’s get Spike Lee to make a movie about his (black) slave trading ancestors.

Lately HBO isn't what it used to be (neither is AMC). The Second Golden Age or Heroic Age of TV Drama is pretty much over.

The novelty and energy are gone. Not that everything is awful, but TV isn't as path-breaking or revolutionary as it once seemed to be.

It's hard to say how good or how bad this new show will be, but there's no reason to be defensive when it comes to Jefferson Davis and the fire eaters.

If your ancestors were ordinary Confederate soldiers and their wives or widows, they were in their own way victims of the secessionist elite and their plans.

I heard Rush today and he sort of missed the point. The ideals of slavery are alive and well in America today. The left is correct.

Don’t believe? Read some of the pro-slavery apologists from the 1850’s. Start with Henry Hughes and his book “ Treatise on Sociology” published in 1854. Then tell me what his “Warranteeism” sounds like. (I understand ol’ Woodrow Wilson was a fan of Henry Hughes.)

Men like Hughes, Calhoun and Fitzhugh clearly felt that the state grants you your rights. (Now, name two major political parties that seem to think that way today.)

George Fitzhugh in his book “Sociology of the South or the Failure of Free Society” declares that “socialism is slavery”. And believe me, he was all in for slavery.

Some of the pro-slavery apologists were even in favor of expanding slavery to encompass all races and a majority of the populace. They saw it as the moral thing to do because they regarded the majority of people as incapable of taking care of themselves. You have to love such benevolent progressiveness.

Maybe HBO, being packed with progressives, is just going to show us the alternative to socialism? Oh wait, no alternative, Fitzhugh said they are the same. My bad.
