Good for the environment I guess. It may become mandatory. Why am I a little uneasy about this?

Because conservatism is a suicide pact for some???

It isn’t mandatory and sterilizing people who can’t make good enough choices to stay out of jail is a good idea.

Because there are shades of eugenics in it?

Logically, it makes sense. Children whose parents have spent time in jail are more likely to go that route themselves. But in practice, voluntary becomes mandatory, and the government would be deciding who gets to have kids and who doesn't.

If the program could be kept small and voluntary, I would support it. But I don't trust it to stay that way.
