A possible scenario is the woman called from her cell phone (easily determined from 911 records) and was waiting by the door. When she saw the cruiser she exited the dwelling to greet them and the (screen) door slammed behind her. Twitchy cop draws and fires out driver side window from passenger seat, narrowly missing his partner’s head and killing the civilian.
I bet the partner in the patrol car (driver) would like the chance to make him talk. He had to be furious at such a stunt pulled by the other cop and probably isn’t allowed to speak for publication...I don’t know anyone who would find themselves in that same scenario without having PLENTY to say about such a stupid maneuver..not to mention deafening him.

remember this was just after the 4th of July
You know how that goes people are still shooting off fireworks for days after the 4th...it was 11:30 at night
bottom line is “Barney Fife” likely heard a boom probably from fireworks and way over reacted
