When you come to the heart of it those women believe that the government should be totally in charge of abortions and should have the power to mandate abortions for unapproved mothers. It is the government that they want in control of their lives and their bodies. It is a logical extension of the biological drive for protection that distinguishes women in the aggregate from men who are more genetically disposed to either freedom or being themselves in control. which is why the 19th Amendment was a slowly accumulating disaster for the Republic. That and the 17th which converted the States as semi sovereign entities into Provinces and the 16th which gave the central government control of the money and incomes of the whole society are what eventually ended the Republic.
