NRA’s Dana Loesch Is Not Happy With Scaramucci’s Past Position on Guns
Mediaite ^ | July 23rd, 2017 | by Ken Meyer

National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch has seen Anthony Scaramucci‘s previous comments about guns, and it would seem she’s not very impressed.

Shortly after Scaramucci was confirmed as the new White house Communications Director, he went on a Twitter-deletion spree where he erased some of the critical comments he previously made about President Trump. Scaramucci said he was doing this out of “full transparency,” though he also deleted other tweets where he contradicted Trump and mainstream conservatives when it comes to topics like climate change and abortion.

On Saturday, the day after he became Trump’s communications director, he announced on Twitter that he’s deleting his old tweets, which he said are only a distraction.

As it were, Scaramucci deleted a number of tweets where he previously voiced his support for gun control.

Loesch took notice of those tweets before their deletion, and she responded with this:

— Mike Hayes (@michaelhayes) July 21, 2017

You’re talking about someone responsible for presenting President’s message to public. Not a policy maker, but a narrative maker, so, huge.

— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) July 21, 2017

Loesch erased her first message, though she did put these up in its place:

I hope you’ve changed your mind on this. https://t.co/0LYBpqLYag

— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) July 21, 2017

I hope so. I wish he was on the same page as POTUS. I know Trump supports national reciprocity.

— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) July 21, 2017

Jennifer Baker, the NRA’s director of public affairs, issued statements to the media where she insisted that Loesch’s opinions are her’s alone, and the NRA has no official position on Scaramucci’s hiring.

“Dana Loesch was not speaking on behalf of the National Rifle Association when she commented on recent White House personnel decisions,” Baker told The Hill.

Yeah neither am I. But he’s good at helping Trump and seems to be in line with the administration. As long as he sticks to the narrative. I’m good with him....FOR NOW.

Dana is just doing her job, is handsomely paid to be seen grumbling, and Scaramucci will do his.

Besides, the president can handle gun rights and certainly Scaramucci at the same time.

His job is to move forward Trumps agenda, not his own. As long as he does that he’s okay. Trust Trump

As a denizen on New York, he's probably more familiar with space aliens than he is with firearms.

Let's see what happens. So far he seems a lot better at that communications thing than the last guy who had the job.

If Trump had picked him to head the ATF I would be very concerned, but since his only job is to parrot what Trump tells him to say, I’m not particularly concerned.

People do evolve. The answer to the “gun problem” is, primarily, to admit they are dangerous, if used improperly.

EVERY youngster, upon reaching high school age, should be enrolled in a course teaching the care, feeding, grooming, and proper use and safeguards of side arms from pistols up to big-game hunting rifles, so it may be determined, at an early age, which ones are unfit to EVER be in possession of such an instrument. This would be very much on the same level as driver’s training is now taught in schools or other separate facilities, required before a person may obtain a permit to operate a motor vehicle.

This is on the order of what I call “grasping the nettle” There is a plant called the “stinging nettle, which if only brushed up against, leaves large painful red welts on the skin, but if seized firmly in the fist, is crushed and has no remaining potential to leave marks of any kind. Every country kid has learned this early in life.

Dad was a marine and an NYPD cop. I grew up in anti gun NYC back in the 50’s but was handling firearms at a very young age. We went to a mountain cabin every summer and I had my first .22 rimfire rifle at 12. My first BB Gun at 6 or so. Dad made it clear what I could and not do with firearms regarding safety.

I have taken safety classes since but none as good as what dad taught me. I gave my 3 kids the same education.

Whether home or from an outside agency, everyone should get basic gun safety education. I would defer to Jeff Cooper’s basic gun safety rules as a starting point :

RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY

RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET

People do evolve

That's what President Trump is all about. He developed many of his policies by actually listening to US citizens across the country and addressing our concerns.

Salamucci has a middle class background. He's a bright, successful guy. I have no doubt that he's quite capable of understanding the Deplorable agenda and also of getting the coup members out of the WH. "Our side" complaining before giving Salamucci a chance is not helpful.

Every core belief he had is social lib. You just dont turn on a dime on your ny lib core beliefs. He reports directly to tump. He will have trumps ear but not more so than jared who has the same ny lib beliefs.

Trump is responsible for his own decisions as POTUS

The Hill reporting what I already knew was going to happen and said so when I saw this guys bio.

Scaramucci needed this gig for IRS reasons...but its not going to be the real gig. He is overqualifed. Reports are he is being considered for chief of staff

Loesch was a rabid NeverTrump-er during the campaign.

IMO, her opinion on WH matters means Jack Schitt...

[He is overqualifed. Reports are he is being considered for chief of staff]

Yeah, I figured this wasn’t the right gig for him.

CoS seems like the perfect fit for his persona, and he is certainly more loyal than swamp creature Reince.

I’m guessing Scaramucci is in the Comms position to can all the leakers, and will move to CoS when that task is finished...

This gig serves two purposes.

He needed one quickly for IRS reasons

Trial run for CoS

He has his own russian issue which is why some didnt want him hired. Dont know if minor blip or not. Didnt really look at the sanction issue with him

Would he make good CoS??

I dont know. I do know preibus needs to go.
