What is the impetus for making his accusation now? Trying to get his pound of flesh before the old queen dies or what?

Carroll is a former governor in Kentucky. If I recall correctly, he held office in the mid 1970s.
I thought Democrat politicians got promotions for this sort of behavior.

OK so call me a cynic but this occurred 12 years ago. The Democrats have protected him all this time. What did Senator Carroll refuse to play ball on? They don’t use their leverage without cause.

This thing is looking very, very messy. Apparently there’s an audio tape that does not confirm the “grope”, but DOES confirm the “propositions”, and convinced the Dems to can Carroll as their State Senate Whip.
Julian Carroll is a BIG deal in KY, and already has a major highway and the Paducah Convention Center named after him.
But, the bigger story is that somehow the whole thing got covered up. Was the accuser made to stay quiet? Why “go public” only now? Too many details are missing.

I suppose this could be an elaborate scam involving a very good voice actor, but, the accuser certainly does not seem capable of it. Still, why was the recording made in the 1st place? How many constituents carry in a micro-recorder when they go to see a local pol? Advance warning?
