I have never ‘Chipotled’, but I’m starting to think this is sabotage, a biologic attack done by a competitor.
I know that sounds crazy, but this company has built itself up to becoming very successful over 24 years. They employ over 45 thousand people worldwide.
I just don’t believe that all of a sudden, they begin making bad decisions to the degree that scores of people are getting sick every other month. If true, whoever is responsible is probably frustrated that Chipotle’s is still thriving, even after multiple blizzards of very bad publicity. There is a long history of restaurant managers doing this in the past, in various countries.
“What is it going to take?” Asks the Villain.

You need to get out more.
I do. What’s so great about McDonald’s and Burger King is their ACCOUNTABILITY - they know it’s death for the chain if they don’t keep their food healthy.
Small outfits, like Chipitole here, have higher priorities, which include ‘organic’ garbage and ‘all-natural’ handling...etc. They can keep it - I want to stay healthy when traveling.

Its obvious they are being sabotage. I agree. Too much coincidence and lawsuits.I suspect not. These outbreaks in the last 6 months cover a wide area of the nation and are not localized. However, I do find it odd that we have not had a similar number of outbreaks of this disease at Taco Bell.
If they are being sabotaged it is not locally but somewhere in the supply chain.

Yeah have people with nose rings and tats make your food, what could possibly go wrong? Obviously, if they just fired all the employees with tattoos & piercings all their problems would magically disappear.

Just had a two for one coupon texted to me from Chipotle. Might as well wait for the two for free that will now probably be coming. Take my chances.

There could be a conspiracy to bring down Chipotle.
Disgruntled employee, or stakeholder?

Agreed! All these viruses started showing up in the past 2 years when they made the decision to go organic. Monsanto was not pleased.

Perhaps...but note that I never said they were the best food, only the best places to eat.

This is why one of my top ten rules for successful investing is to NEVER invest in restaurant stocks (fast food or otherwise).
I always maintained the same with lottery winnings. One of the fastest ways to go through all the money with nothing to show for it would be to open a restaurant. I saw this play out when I lived in Rockford, IL, when lottery winners made what looked like a conservative play, a Quizno's opening next door to a successful Culver's burger/chicken joint on Harrison Ave.. Unfortunately for the greenhorns, when Rockford decided to undertake a year long construction project on Harrison, Culver's survived because their customers were used to going there, but people wouldn't bother with the detours to go to a Quizno's. They closed before the construction was completed.

“If you owned their stock you would be sick!
Check the 5 year chart”
Hardly feel sorry for anyone whom got in early and didn’t take the money off the table when it got to the $550-600 range per share.

If you eat at any fast food restaurant the odds are better than not that somewhere in the food chain nose rings and tats are present. Not Chik-Fil-A or In-N-Out.

Not a Chipotle fan, although my kids like it, but this is getting way beyond coincidental. How is it that of all the fast food places only Chipotle keeps getting hit, and with the timing between hits that is pretty amazing. It’s almost as if with some strategic precision Chipotle gets hit. What if someone wanted the company to fail with absolutely with an appearance of randomness?
