Boehner Admits Behind Closed Doors: Republicans Will Never Repeal Obamacare (VIDEO)

Former House Speaker, John Boehner said the GOP won't be able to repeal and replace Obamacare at a closed-door tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV Friday.

John Boehner told a private crowd that Obamacare will never be repealed or replaced by the GOP because Americans and state officials are used to it in a video obtained by The Washington Post.

Boehner also warned that Republicans will get annihilated in 2018 midterm elections if they fail to pass healthcare and tax legislation.

"Here we are, seven months into this year, and yet they've not passed this bill. Now, they're never...they're not going to repeal and replace Obamacare. It's been around too long. And the American people have gotten accustomed to it. Governors have gotten accustomed to this Medicaid expansion, and so trying to pull it back is really not going to work."

Boehner suggested that if the GOP can't get rid of Obamacare completely, to at least eliminate the mandate and some of the taxes.

"When it's all said and done, you're not going to have an employer mandate anymore, you're not going to have the individual mandate. The Medicaid expansion will be there. The Governors will have more control over their Medicaid populations and how to get them care, and a lot of Obamacare taxes will probably go."

GOP: We wish we could get rid of this nasty Obamacare for you but we just don’t have the votes.
America, 2010: Okay, we’ll give you the House of Representatives.

GOP: We’re working as hard as we can but we can’t get anything past the Senate.
America, 2014: Alright, here's the Senate and control of Congress. Now, let’s see some action!

GOP: Oh, golly gee whiz! That rotten old Obama says he’ll veto anything we send to his desk. We really want to help everyone but our hands are tied. <
America, 2016: FINE! Here is the Presidency! You're now in charge of two of the three branches of government. Get to work!
Trump: Yeah! Let’s get to work!

GOP: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let’s not be hasty. These sort of things take finesse. We certainly don't want to rush into anything.

America, 2017: Grrrrrrrrrrr…

Republicans need to change their mascot to a pot of well boiled linguine ... you know, to go along with their backbones.

You’ve summed that up very well. 2016 may have been the last federal election I will participate in. Before Trump announced, I hadn’t planned on voting in 2016. If an outsider like Trump can’t make headway, there is truly no point to voting and giving any endorsement to the corrupt swamp of D.C.

I just don't think the Republican party realizes just how bad this looks. Repealing Obamacare was the MAJOR thing they ran for four entire election cycles. How do you ever except voter to believe anything you promise ever again if you just say, "Hey gotcha! We never really planned to repeal Obamacare."?

Die hard political folk like most of us on here will dutifully march to the polls and vote for them again in 2018 because we know the alternative is much worse. But I'm guessing large swaths of Independents and Republican leaning voters who don't really politics closely are just going to sit it out or maybe even vote Democrat just to spite the Republican party.

Globalist donors/Deep State > The American people

When you boil it down and get beyond all the explanations that’s how your typical Repuke sees the world from his lofty position in DC.

The Republicans are in ‘SABOTAGE TRUMP’S PRESIDENCY’ mode. What to do? I have no idea.

Don't fool yourself....They realize how bad they look to “We the People”......But in order to get re-elected they HAVE TO serve their Masters or the gig is up COMPLETELY!!.....They're counting on their Masters to BUY their next election rather then running someone against them....

YES - American’s are “used to it.”

Just like they are used to having in-grown toenails or gout

It doesn’t mean we should all suffer needlessly though

Trump should highlight this and call on every one of his supporters to phone their representatives and demand they carry out their promise.

Tactics For Victory.

I agree with Boehner only to the extent that the repeal will have to be done in stages. But it is ultimately idiotic not to recognize how unsuited the Federal Bureaucracy is to having any role in civilian health care. (I know the Democrats tried to so construct Obamacare as to make it seem unrepealable. But if we focus long enough on all that is self-defeating in the program, coupled with its Unconstitutionality, eventually we will be able to get rid of it.)
