Maybe that’s because you are not a pedophile. I knew a pedophile, and he LOVED to watch skimpily-clad young girls engaged in various activities. The latter didn’t have to be sexual; they just had to afford him different angles and views of the girl.
Voyeurism is a definite component of the condition. Have you never heard of guys sitting on a bench near a playground, just watching the young girls on the swings, etc.?

Since I became a grandpa ten years ago (now 10, 8 and 10 months) I notice little kids more than I used to; a lot of times they bring a smile to my face. But I am concerned that someone someday will misinterpret my interest and accuse or attack me. And there is really no response to that accusation except to punch the accuser's lights out!
I prosecuted a guy like that once. He would hang out at the playgrounds and take videos of the young girls. Then he would go home and make video compilations of them, mixed in with videos of some other disgusting things I will not mention here. He had a cat, and next to the cat box he had a remote controlled toy backhoe that he used to clean the cat box with.
A very weird dude, to say the least.
Oh, I forgot to mention his daytime job; he worked in a dental lab. He made sets of false teeth. One the investigating officers had a partial that the guy made. The officer wasn’t happy about it.
