I don't care for Coulter much these days, but this is a good commentary. And it's not just this Somali guy - there are far too many cops that seem to want to escalate situations, rather than deescalate them. When things inevitably go wrong, as they did in this situation, the cop's story doesn't seem to hold up. Body camera and dash cams are mysteriously shut off or not working, cops were startled by a loud noise or sudden movement, etc.

It's not helped by the fact that the politicians are scare of crossing the police unions, so they will automatically support the bad cops over innocent civilians.

The good cops need to get the bad cops fired, because the bad cops and bad policies are decreasing the trust most of us used to have in cops.

My son, who is now in college, but who served as a Marine in Afghanistan, came across one of these cops earlier this year, and the cop freaked him out, which is saying a lot, given that he saw his share of combat. It was a stop for speeding, and as the cop was talking to him, he apparently saw a box of CHL materials in the backseat of my son's car (my son is helping out a family friend who does CHL/LTC work). He said the cop put his hand on his firearm and became very aggressive, practically yelling at my son and asking if he had a firearm in the vehicle, etc.

It is frightening when a cop turns ape on you. We had it happen to us at our house for having a big bar-be-que pool party a while back. Luckily there was a lawyer at the party and he was meaner than the cop.

We lived on five acres so it’s not like we were disturbing the peace. All the parents were there as it was a family gathering. One of the cops wanted to search the house (saying he had no need for a warrent) because he figured we were feeding booze and drugs to our children. Those children were having WAY too much fun for that cop’s taste.
