I liked Bono best as a writer, when he composed songs like Koko Joe, a hit for Don and Dewey in 1958. "S. Christie," his pseudonym, was given the writer's credit on the label.

After he got political, he had a pretty good voting record representing California's 44th Congressional District in the House of Representatives. I saw him up close at the 1992 California Republican Party Convention (back when California had a Republican Party).
