My theory all along has been this: the Russians, like almost everyone else, expected Hitlery to win. Their efforts were to weaken Hitlery before the election as much as possible in order to weaken her status in office.

So Trump and the Russians both targeted Hitlery. No collusion just a common enemy.

To the degree the Russians also engaged in ways to denigrate Trump, like that hooker dossier, I would say it was just a bit of distraction.... they hit on Trump a little bit just to cover their bases...but he was NEVER “supposed” to win.

Obama declared in February 2016 that Trump would never be president... This was after Megan Kelly attempted to ‘dirty dossier’ Trump in that debate .. and good ol saint Cruz smugly bashed Trump over ‘New York values’. The GOPe are in this up to their bloodshot eyeballs.

That is the most plausible theory I’ve read to date. They didn’t have to collude. They just had to have a common goal.

A critical aspect to understand is that Clinton, Comey, Lynch, Brennan, Baker (FBI general counsel), Powers and Rice could all wind up in prison for actual felonies committed. They bet the farm on Hillary's election, and continuing coverup of their crimes, while they held the reins of power. With Trump as POTUS, all bets are off, and they are going for broke with the deep state coup, to save their own necks by taking out Trump before they are taken out.
