Probably because Trump knows more about McMaster than various freeper critics who had never heard of him before he was appointed NSA. But who now “know” that he should be fired based on the extensive knowledge that they have gained from reading a critical opinion piece based heavily on the opinions of the neverTrumper Weekly Standard’s Lee Smith.
Feel free to tell us how wonderful things will be if Trump starts taking advice from Bill Kristol and the rest of the cabal over at Weekly Standard.
You must have missed the ecstasy expressed by the likes of Bill Kristol and Lindsey Graham the day McMaster was appointed, along with the reactions of so many others of the wrong crowd.
Donald was giving a chance for Priebus, Bannon, and others on the early team to make recommendations. As soon as Kristol and Graham reacted as they did, many here on FR including myself were suddenly aware that the wrong person had slipped through the cracks.
Since then, McMaster has been seen to be a poor liar such as when he announced on the White House lawn that leaks would not be tolerated, when in fact he is a big source of the leaks, but he is more careful than most not to get caught. He’s knowledgeable about covert double agent cover tactics and he uses them to escape detection.
A trap should be and I am sure will be set for him.
But as you commented, if you’re happy to go along with the approval of McMaster by the likes of Kristol, Graham, feel free to step in it.
