That’s just a strange way for nature to build a dog.
It’s the GMO of the dog world.
It makes my soul ache.
*That* is why I no longer watch the annual dog show.
It’s become a freak show.
In that photo, the dog is “stacked” (in show pose), so the slope may not be so extreme when in a natural stance.
With that said, I want to slap some sense into GSD show breeders. AKC is pozzed as #$%@, UKC has more of an emphasis on healthy working dogs. In GSD’s I wouldn’t pay money for anything but Euro working lines these days.
Other poster is correct, it is the 3-point stance, and she actually is quite good. Look around and you’ll find the real butt-draggers, especially in the specialty rings.
The real blame IS the breeders. They control everything - they ARE the directors, the members, the handlers and judges. Try to find several owners/breeders who AREN’T heavily involved in the specialty clubs.
