There was a small group here, long ago, who pushed and pushed and PUSHED, on threads and in FRmail to others, for Pence to be president. I read EVERYTHING they wrote, did my own research on Pence and was underwhelmed by him back then and am still not all that impressed by him.
Your claim that he can "work with conservatives in Congress"; well....there's nothing to substantiate that claim. Unlike how LBJ "worked" Congress, as VEEP, Pence NEVER had that kind of power nor influence.
Socialism isn't "creeping"...it has been full throated ROARING at the highest decibels and speeds, for many decades and is now installed into our government/nation.
Your rose colored glasses scenario would be impressive, if you threw in how ALL of the GOPers will soon fall into line and vote as a block to forward Trumpism, that the MSM will soon tire of their Anti-Trump War, and we soon will enter the "GOLDEN AGE OF CONSERVATISM". :-)

I have no rose-colored glasses or rcg scenario. There will be no golden age of conservatism, the media and their mindless automatons they control will make sure of that. There will be an occasional populist-conservative like Trump. But mostly we will get liberals of various types. I don't know how to get people away from the stranglehold of the liberal entertainment media, even here.
Your point about socialism is correct. I only meant it was creeping along under Trump despite his efforts. The budget already increases practically everything, etc.
I am definitely not pushing for Pence to be president, nor did I ever do that. I want Trump and clones of him if possible.
As for Tillerson he pushed back against the liberals at his confirmation hearings on practically every issue: radical islam, China, Russia.
Don't EVER go by what someone says during a confirmation hearing! And Tillerson is a GIGANTIC anit-Trumpism POS.
I never said that YOU were/are a Pence acolyte; just posted what I know went on here long ago (and you should kn ow about this too, since you were here ), my reaction to it, and how I see Pence still. It's my educated opinion, which I backed up with some facts.
You really should have learned how to re-educate others, re liberalisim, during your time here. I knew how to do that long before FR was even a vague idea in JR's mind; heck, I've been changing peoples' mind and educating them re MARXISM/SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM/LIBERALISM since computers took up not just whole rooms, but whole floors and couldn't do 1/1,000,000th of what a laptop can do today.
We can't reach everyone, but we need to do whatever we can and then get those people to join in the movement!
