MTV’s Gore Town Hall Proves It Should Stick to Music

It wouldn’t be shocking for a television network known for programming gems like Jackass, Catfish, Teen Mom and The Real World, to lack perspective on serious matters — or to lack serious reporting.

Both deficiencies were on full display during “An Inconvenient Special” on MTV, starring former vice president Al Gore promoting his new film which is essentially his own reality television show anyway. He prefers the term “cinema verite.” The Aug. 2, town hall special was also scheduled for re-broadcast that night on BET, and on VH1 on Aug. 4.

MTV News correspondent Gaby Wilson hosted the event with Gore and a young army of people raised under the propaganda of his first film An Inconvenient Truth, and his Climate Reality Project.

The dull 30-minute event consisted primarily of his fans lobbing praise and soft questions, while Gore repeated almost the exact same (contested) talking points about extreme weather and climate “solutions” he’s delivered on the network morning shows, CNN, The Daily Show and more in recent weeks.

And, in case you missed it yesterday about the sacrifice manbearpig is making to change the world,

We know his has a big house but I don’t believe it’s 34X the size of the average house. But he can afford to pay that bill.

Why is there this major initiative to prop up Algore all of a sudden?

I was looking through a recent copy of Elle magazine, which is basically a brainless fashion rag for millennials, and came across a shameless puff piece on him.

Is he planning to run for President again?

Al Gore “burned records” and got store clerks arrested for pandering.

He made a “hero” out of an old 70s glam hack named Dee Snyder who later endorsed his presidential candidacy.

In 2004 MTV lied to teens and said repeatedly that Bush and the Republicans were seeking to bring back the draft for that nasty war in Iraq and Afghanistan. the only legislation for bringing back the draft was authored and sponsored in the House and Senate by DEMOCRATS.

MTV get off the air.

I sold Hi-fi an big screen TV’s in the early 80’s. We always had MTV on some of the sets for obvious reasons.

I dumped TV in 1997.

A couple of years ago I was at a friend’s house who had cable TV and noticed MTV was available. I thought it might be fun to watch some music videos.

Yeah, um, no. It’s just another station except with extra lame programming.

You can’t just teach propaganda, you have to sell it on TV, even on “entertainment” channels like MTV - don’t ya know. /sarc

I wonder how much $$$ Gore got from MTV?

Selling “green” propaganda is his main livelihood.

at this one, Anderson Cooper introduces a Catholic Priest who gets to ask Gore a question - and his response proves again he’ll say anything if it might help his agenda:

2 Daily Wire: Gore: ‘Climate Change’ Is A ‘Moral And Spiritual Issue’
Global warming industry leader co-hosts propagandistic CNN infomercial with Anderson Cooper
By Robert Kraychik

GORE: Well, thank you, Father.
And thank you for what you do. I’m a Protestant, but I’ll tell you, because of Pope Francis, I really could become a Catholic...

I highly recommend ‘I Want My MTV! - An Oral History’ even if you don’t or didn’t like MTV.

It is a fascinating account of the channel’s origins and programming, especially the early years when it was essentially an orphan but hugely influential even if the corporate owners didn’t realize it.

It also conveys the zeitgeist of each era.

It’s another cautionary tale of absolute power corrupting absolutely ie they attracted a demographic and then decided that a captive audience gave them license to preach especially after the ludicrous - and leftist - MTV News division was introduced. They thought sexual predator Bill Clinton was just dreamy right down to his boxers, or briefs, or neither as it turned out.

Even now people make jokes about ‘Music Television’ featuring no music but that’s just fine with the usual Broadcast Row types who are loath to sacrifice their propaganda organ.

Maybe show some visual to get the ‘kids’ interested like showing 21 homes and then saying Al Gore as a single person in just one of his homes (he has 3 or 4) uses the energy of those people in the 21 homes.

Leave it to the soulless, shameless huckster that he is to insist we all use intellectual lingo, his preferred manner of speech (also known as bull$hit) to bolster his relevancy.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all...they have no “bench” and most of their varsity team is getting swept up in the DNC v DNCC collusion to destroy Sanders and run pay for play operations.
