Full headline: "Republican donor from Virginia Beach sues GOP, accusing the party of fraud over failed Obamacare repeal"

A retired attorney in Virginia Beach is so incensed that Republicans couldn't repeal the Affordable Care Act he's suing to get political donations back, accusing the GOP of fraud and racketeering.

Bob Heghmann, 70, filed a lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court saying the national and Virginia Republican parties and some GOP leaders raised millions of dollars in campaign funds while knowing they weren't going to be able to overturn the ACA, also known as Obamacare.

The GOP "has been engaged in a pattern of Racketeering which involves massive fraud perpetrated on Republican voters and contributors as well as some Independents and Democrats," the suit said.

I don’t think you’re ever going to get damages for political promises unfulfilled... :-) Good try though.

Just sue McCain, Murkowsksi and Collins. On the other hand Murkowski and Collins didn’t go around saying they would repeal it so just stick it to McCain, the backstabber.

This will go nowhere, but it sends a message to the GOP.

RE:”Suing a politician for lying/breaking a campaign promise?”

Under this logic we can sue Trump for asking congress for our $$$$ to build the wall after he promised us that he had some secret trick to get Mexico to pay for it, OH, and it would be REAL easy too. He would tax them.

Ridiculus

Make it a class action lawsuit so the millions of other donors can join in.

It would not be for breaking a promise, but for making one they knew they would not keep at the time they made it.

It’s the difference between “failure to perform” and “fraud with malice”.

“Just sue McCain”

Yes don’t let the bastard breathe. The ads he ran made a specific promise.
Doesn’t matter if the lawsuit falls. They used campaign rhetoric to shoot down Trumps EO. Shove this right down McTraitor’s throat. I’ll bet there is audio of him yuking it up with the Rats about he just screwed Trump. Depose him make him sweat.
