Actually Galileo only rediscovered the telescope - long range magnifying lens had been in use as far back as Old Kingdom Egypt and possibly Sumeria, just the blight of Islam wiped almost all evidence of such lens from common knowledge.
Now days such lens finds are classified as jewelry and stuffed in some dusty museum corner. The myth continues ...
Recent "reams of falsified data" refers to some politically motivated "global warming" reports, not to evolution theory.
Basic evolution theory is confirmed by 150+ years of careful research.
In that the number of mistakes is relatively small, the number of deliberate frauds much smaller still.
