A California deputy attorney general pleaded not guilty to charges related to possession of child pornography, according to reports Thursday. Raymond Joseph Liddy was arrested Tuesday but was later released after posting a $100,000 bond.
In January, an electronic service provider tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a user uploading an image appearing to be child porn. A similar tip was sent to the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force about a month later and it the activity was traced to a house in Coronado in San Diego County. Federal authorities recovered 10 child porn images on the 53-year-old’s computer, according to New York Post.
“During a preliminary forensic review of digital media located at the residence, agents found numerous images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on a computer and a thumb drive,” a complaint filed by federal prosecutors in San Diego said, according to the Post. “Liddy admitted that the thumb drive and computer belonged to him, along with the contents of the same.”
According to the officials, Liddy confessed to taking part in online chats about sexual fantasies.
“Liddy claimed that he often saved sexual images he downloaded briefly and then deleted them, however, it was possible he forwarded some of the images before he deleted them,” the complaint stated.
The attorney general’s office told the San Diego Tribune that it was “aware of the matter” and Liddy has been placed on administrative leave.
Liddy’s LinkedIn profile stated he was serving as deputy attorney general since February 2008 and represented California in civil litigation cases related to Medi-Cal, California’s Medicaid program. Prior to his current job, he worked as an attorney for San Diego-based law firm Luce Forward — now known as Dentons LLP.

Hard to say if he’s rotten or not. We know it is possible for computers to be hacked and compromised.
I hope for the truth of the matter to be revealed. If he’s rotten, then let him be exposed and prosecuted. If he’s been set up, let that be revealed too.
This on is the Marine. Oddly enough the case does not seem to b going anywhere... no reports after 2017.
