Is America on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown or Civil War?
PJ Media ^ | 08/05/2017 | Roger L. Simon

On Friday, Michael Savage -- conservative talk show host and Berkeley Ph.D. in nutritional ethnomedicine -- referenced Nathaniel West's classic 1939 novel about the burning of Los Angeles, The Day of the Locust, to describe what will occur in the USA should Trump be brought down by his assorted "Globalist" enemies.

People will “resort to mob violence” when they “are finally aware of the fact that they’ve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle class people” they are denied.“That is what’s going to happen in this country,” Savage said. “You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. You’ve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros’ mobs. … But you haven’t seen the thing I’m telling you is coming in this country. You haven’t seen the ‘Day of the Locust’ yet.”

"Deplorables" gone wild and burning down our cities? Civil war?

Savage seems to agree that the common man, whom he names Eddie, would not be amused: "And if [the left] take(s) Trump down, through (Special Counsel Robert) Mueller or through any other source and deny Eddie his vote, there will be a civil war in this country.”

As is well known, Savage, a onetime pal of Allen Ginsberg and other Beats, is now considered by many to be a "conservative extremist," therefore a fringe personality from the fever swamps of conspiracy land. Nevertheless, he is the no dummy and is the author of 40 books on subjects as disparate as Alzheimer's and beer-tasting, not to mention economics and politics. Few of his critics have anywhere near the vitae.

Re
“Nervous Breakdown “
******************************

Little gubmint/media attention has been given to the mental well-being of our population in light of the 9/11, the coup of ‘08, the war on president Trump. etc.

Not like the old days years ago when teams of mental health personnel were dispatched to shooting/other crisis scenes right behind the swat teams!
Why?/Why not? Now...or is it just the flake news choice now???

It’s not a matter of going Galt, it’s a question of when and if they will be successful in purging us from the workforce.

Bears repeating.

The Constitution must be restored in full and all its enemies must be put to death.

I would not have any problem if certain activist judges journalists and other traitorous officials of the deep state enemy were found to have hung themselves.

All it would take for a Civil War is for the EBTs to stop working or for cable to go out.
We're held together by welfare and entertainment.

“I’m currently studying the French Revolution.
Everybody expected to win quickly.”

Same with the English civil war, the American civil war and both WWI/the `Great War’ and WWII.

People showed up from WashDC with picnic baskets for Manassas I/Bull Run, but wound up leaving in a hurry. That battle was followed by Shiloh, and four years of casualties and misery.
WWI participants in August 1914 thought it would be over by the first cold snap, but it ground on for four years with millions of casualties. WWII, about four years for us.

The troops always leave with bands and fanfare: “Be back soon!” But this would be different: immediate, close quarters fighting and in our neighborhoods between bands of partisans.
No thinking person wants a civil war; however, we Americans have never responded well to those who say “Why?
Because we say so.”

The left echoes the opinions, even on this thread, that the middle isn’t serious, that we wouldn’t want to miss NFL games and our TV programs and creature comforts.

If the passionate left tests our convictions and insists on overturning a presidential election with bogus charges, it could very well happen.
No bands or cheering send off crowds, but an American CWII would be nasty, brutish and (I think) thankfully short.
Of course, as shown by recent history that’s what we always think.

Ha, I sleep in the basement. Granted, it’s a finished basement, but it’s still creepy.

I thInk that conservatives have a much longer fuse because they have so much to lose -jobs, families, careers, etc.

However, I also think that when those are put at risk, they are more likely to take long-term, permanent action, not just have a protest or two. “Civil War”, as it were.

My opinion only? I thought that Hillary would get elected, and make a grab for people’s retirement funds. Alll those trillions would be too much for a greedy gasping harpy like her to ignore. And THAT would have been the catalyst.... people’s life savings being stolen by the government. Glad that it did not come to pass.

We are in a civil war right now. That is exactly what it is. But it is a cold war. And it’s even being fought on Facebook.

Make no mistake, we are in a civil war.

“Every four generations, humans become bored of peace and embrace war.”

The Fourth Turning.

I read it right when it came out.

I was surprised to learn Bannon and company thought as highly of it as I did.

I don’t think middle America will do anything. They are the folks who have jobs, homes, and families. In other words, they have much to lose in any kind of violence. Leftists, on the other hand, are mostly young and childless with no root, no property, and no jobs. Violence is an adventure for them. What do they have to lose?

We live in dangerous times when leftist billionaires and foundations give money to support losers whose only job title is “activist”. When did that become a legitimate occupation?

There won’t be a civil war. We will go broke first. Then the producers will be back in charge.

More likely that there will be a mass “Gone Galt” with the most talented and productive people of this nation walking away from careers and occupations which pay the bulk of income taxes.

I think this is correct. A lot of us have already checked out.

OMGosh! We just watched Enemies at the Gate last night! (Sniper hero of the Soviet Union.) I spent the rest of the night reading about the Battle of Stalingrad. I never learned what a battle that was— a turning point in WWII.

"...There ain't going to be no civil war..."

Completely concur with you.
I have awesome family and friends, a terrific job, a sweet home in a nice town, cool cars, and a bunch of other things that make me happy.

Even if Maxine Waters herself walks President Trump out of the White House in handcuffs and hangs him from the nearest yardarm, whom exactly will I shoot in my neighborhood in revolt?
My lovely (yet misinformed) leftwinger neighbors whom I've known more than a decade?
My various running, cycling, and gym friends because they pulled the lever for Hillary Clinton?

Conservatives tend to be pretty relaxed. I just don't envision us marching in the street.
We have too much happiness and too much to live for...than to burn our towns.

I am trying to say things are not that bad out there. We control all three branches of government, the economy is booming, illegals are decreasing. Don’t be so pessimistic. Trump is innocent. they won’t find anything on him. So smile.
