Wow thanks for totally dismissing my post...
Sorry your father died when you were a child...I am sure your family exercised extreme caution when your father was sick—I believe that is/was standard protocol. I am glad none of your family had active. I would be surprised if you you don’t test positive on the skin test. Unless you are quite young, then I have relatively recent experience and had you shown any open mindedness, I would have shared articles that point out it can be highly contagious—I conceded to “very” contagious, but you would not have that.
Personally, I think it is very contagious when active, and with the antibiotic-resistant strains, very dangerous... don’t do anyone a favor brushing it off IMHO. That is what Obama did with the influx of refugees and why we are now seeing unheard of TB rates. If I or anyone in my family becomes active, situation will be treated like I would treat the plague or Ebola...
We will have to disagree (strongly), and I am done.
I do test positive when administered tine test, always have and always will. No big deal.
I have also got frequent cold sores because of the Herpes Simplex virus that is tucked away in my body, and have had chicken pox, another virus in my body,so could come down with shingles.
I certainly wasn’t dismissing your post,I was giving my opinion, based on my experience.
.
Sorry you test positive. My one who tests positive but had no chest xray issues is in a medical profession and has to have x-ray very year. Common among healthcare workers.
There now is a blood test for TB—I keep meaning to go get it to see if I need to go thru the treatment. Would hate to have a compromised immune system issue and then come down with full-blown TB>
I don’t know much about Herpes Simplex or what you can do.
However, I too had chicken pox, and I am considering having the vaccine—I don’t like vaccines, but this is one I may get.
Thank you for not dismissing my post.
My brother and I had to be X-rayed annually until we turned 18.
I neglected to tell you the years-——my father died in 1938,I was 5 and my brother was 2,and I STILL test positive.
I find that quite astonishing——79 years.
.
Wow, that is a lot of X-rays. I did not find out I was positive until I was approx. 22. As my x-ray was clear, I never had to be tested.
As I said, I am thinking of getting the blood test (new since I was diagnosed).Have you considered getting the shingles vaccine?
79! You have seen a lot of life and changes. I wish you many more healthy years!
“Have you considered getting the shingles vaccine?”

Yes,some time ago but my MD discouraged it because of some meds that I take.
I’m in God’s hands from now on.
.
Im in Gods hands from now on.
1. We all are...
