Hungry rodents are apparently menacing parents, nannies and babies on the Upper West Side.
There are about 2 million rats in New York City, and some have settled in Central Park and Riverside Park.

Maybe some enterprising individual can invent a game and equipment for “Whack-a-Rat”. Rat jumps up, you clobber it with your Rat Slammer racket. Of course, there wouldn’t be so many rats if the lazy scum stratum of inhabitants would dispose of their garbage properly. But that’s beyond their ken, apparently. You should see the trash on the subway tracks. When I was taking a night class in Manhattan, I would amuse myself while waiting for the next train by counting the rodents scurrying along the tracks.

Rats are nothing new in NYC. I used to fly in six times a year, stayed in good hotels, usually near Central Park, and always saw rat bodies in the streets where they’d been run over or expired of old age with all their rat children around them.
I think NYers are inured to rodents. How else could they put up with DiRatsio?
