Trump: North Korea military solutions 'fully in place, locked and loaded'

BY JULIA MANCHESTER - 08/11/17 07:48 AM EDT

President Trump continued his aggressive rhetoric toward North Korea on Friday, issuing yet another stark warning to the U.S. adversary on Twitter.

"Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!" Trump tweeted.

NK announced that they will launch missiles at Guam by mid August. Trump implied that he’ll nuke NK if that happens. Somebody will blink.

We should be removing all non essential personnel and family members from South Korea.

Yep. That would be my first step. Trump is egging on fat boy to make the first move. Trump will not strike first. I think Kim is smart enough to not strike first. Thus I predict nothing happens.

It will start with an arrant missile launch from DPRK that will by mistake, miscalculation, or lunacy have a flight trajectory which appears headed for any Japanese or U.S. territory. This missile will be intercepted and destroyed. This will have one of two secondary reactions. It will cause the DPRK to strike with more missiles or for them to launch an attack, which will put in motion the full United States planned military operation and obliteration of the DPRK. Or, after the first missile is intercepted the United States sets in motion a limited retaliatory strike on all DPRK nuclear infrastructure and munitions, which leads again to a full on war and obliteration of the DPRK.

Blinking’s already started.

A few days ago, Kim was talkin’ ICBM’s at CONUS, then (maybe) Hawaii or Alaska, then directly at Guam and now he’s backed out to shots in the general area (that might only be “tests” after the next announcement).

I have to think that right now, Kim’s developing a bit more of a sense of reality about this matter than our entire MSM.

...and is the MSM ever going to be bummed when this gambit goes in the toilet.

There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that nobody has a clue about.

“should North Korea act unwisely”

Does this mean that if North Korea doesn’t do anything the status quo remains? That doesn’t square with the opening line in the article.

“President Trump continued his aggressive rhetoric toward North Korea on Friday”

“For those liberals who think that Trump is overreacting,”

They don’t have to worry about thinking about anything anymore — they just repeat whatever they heard last night from Kimmel, Bee, Handler, and anyone else with an audience who hates America with Trump as President.

Good afternoon.

“Or is Mad Max right. Bluffing?”

I look at the tactical situation at present:

Order of battle, 2 CSG on station, and a third in route.
Forward stationing of B1 and 52s.

That is what’s been published. There are probably a bunch of other assets we know nothing about.

I guess if you are going to bluff, you better have at least two pair in this game.

Truman and his State Dept screwed up royally

First by denying Chiang the weapons he needed against MAO and then by Acheson’s dumb statement about our interests in that area

Commies heard that and the Norks invaded the South

Read black Listed by history the last couple of chapters on China

Make you want to vomit

Tend to agree with you, since China has said it will stay out if we don’t strike first: do they mean a nuclear strike? Iraq is a good comparison. So here;s some scattered thoughts.

If we’re boiling this down to tough talk from Western movies:

`Open Range’ Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall
[Charley has explained his strategy for the upcoming fight]
Boss Spearman: Sounds like you got it all worked out.
Charley Waite: Yeah, except the part where we don’t get killed.

OTOH:

Mack: Shame what this town’s come to.
Charley Waite: You could do something about it.
Mack: What? We’re freighters. Ralph here’s a shopkeeper.
Charley Waite: You’re men, ain’t you?
Mack: I didn’t raise my boys just to see ‘em killed.
Charley Waite: Well you may not know this, but there’s things that gnaw at a man worse than dying.

I think a precise conventional strike—something like Claus von Stauffenberg and Hitler, but from an aircraft—against the little Prince and his handlers would resolve the matter.
(Unlike the attempt on Hitler, probability of success would have to be Ivory soap sure, or 99 44/100ths certain.) I think that’s what is planned, with the recent arrival of the Nebraska boys.

While I’m risking all this thinking, I believe the response of the NORKs would be similar to the reaction of the Wicked Witch of the west’s guards as they stood over her puddle: relief and gratitude.
One final point. Someone else pointed out that a strike seems to be what they (NORKS) want; either that or they believe that sabre-rattling will gain concessions, as demonstrated by the pusillanimous actions of Democrat `Chamberlains’. I tend to believe the latter.

I don’t think it’s going to play out that way anymore. Trump has changed the paradigm, as Reagan and Thatcher did. No more coddling of murderous thugs just to push the problem down the road. And he’s made it clear to China that the fun and games are about to end.

For anyone under 60 (including myself) I have no doubt the current circumstances are producing more anxiety than any event since 9/11. But even there was no evidence that Obama had a nuclear weapon that could decimate a city on the US mainland (if he did he would have used it). It is one thing to understand and appreciate MAD when you are dealing with rational leaders in Beijing and Moscow. Quite another with an nutcase who has killed his Uncle and brother, following the path of his predecessors which sent multiple assassination teams to kill the President of South Korea. To me this is worse than 1961 but I didn’t live through that era.

At this point, Kim’s not even launching a missile into the ocean. He’s going to show what a great world leader for peace he is by doing not one damn thing except flap his lips.

Hes boxed himself in now to the point he can’t even teat a missile. China will remain neutral if he pulls any trigger. He’s going to talk, nothing else. And everyone will be happy with that for the time being.

And you hit on what a lot of people are missing.

- N. Korea has always relied on their hot talk to win cash and prizes from the west. It’s worked every time.

- Trump has said “no deal”

- N. Korea threatens all types of (insert bad things here) if we dont give in, because they “really mean it this time”.

- Trump says if you pull anything, we will pound you to ash.

- China said if N. Korea strikes first, they are on there own.

- Trump now has the “trump card”. WE DONT need to attack them. We gain nothing from doing so. N. Korea “loses face” if they do nothing (leading to little fat boy being disposed), they lose China if they do.

We aren’t going to use nukes on them as it is a waste and gets us nothing by a radioactive wasteland in N. Korea and all the headaches from refuges there. And it isnt necessary to accomplish what we need if the north goes full retard.

We have them right were we want them.

“I don’t see this ending well at all for the Koreans, both North and South.”

North Korea has a huge amount of conventional arms that can reach Seoul or close to it
