Donald Trump: Mitch McConnell Should Have Threatened McCain, Murkowski, Collins Chair Positions

President Donald Trump believes that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell did not do everything possible to pass an Obamacare replacement bill. When reporters asked Trump why he continued to batter McConnell despite support for the Senate Majority Leader from his Republican colleagues, he replied shortly, “Don’t make anything of it, we should have health care approved.”

He hinted that McConnell should have threatened to remove Sen. John McCain, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, or Sen. Susan Collins from their chair positions in the Senate to force them to vote for the health care bill.

“He should have known that he had a couple of votes that turned on him and that should have been very easy to handle, whether it’s through the fact that you take away a committee chairmanship or do whatever you have to do,” Trump said, offering advice for McConnell.

Ditch Mitch.

Next, Congress needs to defund The Mueller Fishing Enterprise.

He could remove the chair positions now!

Then vote again, before seating new chairs.

I don’t doubt for a minute that the failing votes were pre planned - McConnell included!

None of them want repeal. All of them are liars.

True that. Liars, deceivers, and endless talkers who do nothing. The GOP is what it is, and always will be. The party is irredeemable IMO.

Even if McCain hadn’t been a critical vote, it would’ve been someone else. He’s a dead man walking, has nothing to lose, so probably took one for The Team (”The Team” = the Uniparty) and volunteered to be the one. All of them want to maintain the status quo. Trump’s swamp-draining rocking the boat will not be tolerated — by any of them.

Trump makes the mistake of thinking that McConnell wants something other than what McCain, Murkowski and Collins want. They are McConnell’s catspaws, delivering the end result that McConnell sought.

I believe that he knows full well how to get things done. He just does not and will do anything that will make President Trump look good or will help him. But the people [voters] of Kentucky sent him to the Senate. They love and adore him and wholeheartedly approve of what he does.

"Trump makes the mistake of assuming the Congressional GOP wants Obamacare repealed and are on his side legislatively."

I wonder if he is going to publicly say that soon. Just look in the camera and simply say it.

"I have to admit I made an assumption that has proved to be terribly wrong. I assumed that when the people gave the Republicans the Senate, the House and the Presidency that the Republicans would keep their promises and repeal Obamacare and enact much needed tax reforms. Leading House and Senate Republicans have only proved that they are contemptuous towards the people who put them into office, and they would rather govern like Democrats."

Agree. The Dem/RINO coalition is the majority. Collins is up in 2020 and the other two I think 2022, with McCain likely departing the stage much earlier.

2018 is the year to knock out a few RINOs to give the good guys enough cushion to withstand the defection of these three.

They only pull the stunts they do know because they can threaten to switch parties.

Remember Jumping Jim Jeffords? When the GOP retook control, he wanted back and we told him to stick it.

All three would immediately become Democrats, and Chuck Schumer would be the Senate majority leader.

Fine with me. We have Gorsuch and that's all we're going to get. Better to properly label the enemy than to keep pretending.

Maybe. But let's keep in mind that a U.S. Senator's first obligation is to his or her own constituents -- not the Senate majority leader from another state thousands on miles away, and not the President of the U.S.

The simple reason why ObamaCare hasn't been repealed is that most Americans love it. They may say they don't, but really they just don't want to pay for it.

Heck -- almost every major provision of ObamaCare has a sizable contingent of supporters right here on FreeRepublic. Just think about how pathetic that is when you're criticizing the Senate for its failure to repeal it.

Mitch thinks voters just sent him to DC so he could collect a check. Voters sent him to DC to get things done.

It’s really getting old to blame everybody but the American voters.
Wow! You must be a genius with all that perfect 20/20 hindsight.

Maybe you missed the part about finding out they're back stabbing liars AFTER you've elected them for 2-4-6 yrs.
