There was one on a Sioux reservation in Nebraska that got quietly removed.
They would have never allowed a Jefferson memorial.
Was it a big to do? No. It wasn’t protested, just down quietly as they remodeled a park.
The difference is that while there was a lot of cultural mistrust, it was done in a “well, that is theirs” type of way. No one came to the next town over, off the rez, and demanded it.
But the time for worrying about statues of people most living people won’t recognize is long past. I hate it. More than I can explain. But if you showed a picture of Washington or Jefferson to an average grade schooler today, they wouldn’t know who it was.
They simply don’t care, and do not hold the same cultural appreciation of the history, because it isn’t their history.
