Eagles player says he'll protest the national anthem, even if Kaepernick doesn't
CBS Sportlsine ^ | 8/12/2017 | John Breech

Posted on 08/12/2017 1:01:13 PM PDT by Kazan

It looks like the movement started by Colin Kaepernick last season isn't going to end during the 2017 season just because he's out of football. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins revealed this week that he'll be protesting during the national anthem again in 2017 after also protesting in 2016.

Like Kaepernick, Jenkins will be protesting racial injustice and police brutality against minorities. However, unlike Kaepernick, Jenkins won't be kneeling during the national anthem. Instead, the Eagles safety raises a fist over his head, like he did during Philadelphia's opening preseason game Thursday against the Packers.

Jenkins released a lengthy statement this week explaining why he'll once again be protesting.

"Last season, I raised my fist as a sign of solidarity to support people, especially people of color, who were and are still unjustly losing their lives at the hands of officers with little to no consequence," Jenkins said, via ESPN.com "After spending time with police officers on ride-alongs, meeting with politicians on the state and federal level and grass roots organizations fighting for human rights, it's clear that our criminal justice system is still crippling communities of color through mass incarceration."

“Heaven.”

But you would be rooting for the Buckeyes from there wouldn’t you.

When I was still truck driving I used to love driving across Ohio when they would play Michigan. Barely any cars on the road, no cops in sight and every weigh station closed.
I would hammer on it all the way.
None of that 55mph crap on game day!

Lots of nice closeups of this SJW hero should cut the NFL’s viewing audience at least another 5% during the coming season.

Lots of these players want to terminate their careers blaming conservatives and Republicans. Trump.

“There are plenty of countries in the world run by black people that have black police Why doesn’t he go to one and live there?”

Hmmm,South Africa is one, but there have been race riots in SA,by blacks, over too much immigration of blacks from other African countries.

I find it all quite amusing.

What no solidarity with people of color that are losing their lives to other people of color with little to no conscience?

Super Bowl 42 wasn’t last year...

I’ll watch the Giants in playoff games (if I have nothing else going on); otherwise, there are just too many commercials for a sane person to endure (never mind the political posturing, which hasn’t come to the Giants).

In a few months they’ll do it again - giving Eli a hat-trick against Brady...

(I’m in my own world, because I don’t actually follow sports and analyze stats...)

Well, since I could not possibly loathe the Philthy E’Gals anymore (right up there with the DallAss Crackgirlz and the Bradiots), this should be perfect.

To think, doing it as part of Philadelphia, the home of the Liberty Bell!

What's even more hilarious than that is that Philthadelphians refer to their cesspool of hate as "the City of Brotherly Love!" There are certain cities to which I will never consider attending a game lest I be beaten senseless (possibly lifeless) by their obnoxious fans, and number one on the short list Filthadelphia.

Hey NFL, just an FYI. I will not watch any game that has players that conduct a protest of the USA. You are here to entertain me. I watch to escape politics. You try and force this crap down my throat and I am done. Hockey will be back soon anyway.

If this continues I will not come back to the NFL. I was part of the millions that walked away last year after that guy “whojits”...

it’s a simple fact that the NFL left fans. Aside from an occasional Patriots game (Belichick fan) I beat feet 3-years ago. Hard to say who has more excuses for lack of accomplishment; NFL players or Congress. Alabama football is the real deal. Roll Tide!

Vote against Eagles, Yes. They pretty much always suck.

But ...NEVER, EVER vote against a Beagle. Best damn small game dogs in the world... :^)
