I hope not. We had a National Guard chopper crash at Ft. McCoy one year. We had to fan out and search for survivors/the wreckage.
The 1SG was killed, as was the Pilot, but when we found the Commander (a young Captain at the time) he was standing on two broken legs, banging on the chopper with a piece of debris so we could help find him.
I’ll never forget that night. Ever. Burned into my memory.
