J.K. Rowling criticizes president for not tweeting about Charlottesville, and for tweeting about it

Author J.K. Rowling is a good example of how nothing President Trump ever does will be considered the right thing by his critics. Earlier Saturday, she criticized Trump for not tweeting about white supremacists marching through Charlottesville, Va.

“Harry Potter” creator Rowling has more than 11.5 million followers, and it didn’t take long for that tweet to garner nearly a quarter-million likes and half that many retweets.

President Trump did tweet about the violent clashes in Charlottesville less than an hour later, and later in the afternoon gave a live statement at an afternoon briefing.

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one! 1:19 PM - Aug 12, 2017 57,496 57,496 Replies 45,382 45,382 Retweets 142,746 142,746 likes

It turns out the president didn’t forget how to tweet, but it wasn’t quite what Rowling was looking for.

Somehow we’re not surprised Rowling didn’t care for the tweet she had criticized the president for not posting.

Is this her life now, tweeting?
She must be auditioning for an anchor spot on The View.

Another example of Liberalism being a mental disorder.

I have had to deal with some liberals lately. It is as if they have been abducted and their brains scrambled.

It's strange. They truly think they are tolerant and non-evaluative when, in fact, they are angry and totally intolerant of anybody who isn't brainwashed.

Or really... this blatantly Christian Donald (any previous casual flirtation with affairs churchy has gotten really serious since the weight of the world has landed on Donald’s shoulders) is the anti-wizard.

You’d expect that from a gal who talks up the occult, even the pretend occult. Is it just me, or does Christianity never explicitly show up in her works?

Since the light of things Trumpian (which I would aver have largely become Christian since he took up his role in earnest) has bathed the scene... the cockroaches are scurrying.

I wouldn’t get mad. I’d get amused.

Rowlings should stick to writing fiction about fictitious people.

Keep writing your stupid little stories and keep out of things you know nothing about.

I don’t think so. I read the first one and that was it. I do know she doesn’t have anything good to say about C. S. Lewis, though she had read The Chronicles of Narnia when she was younger.

Wonder if the money and fame really got to her head. From what I heard, Rowling was on welfare and struggling and devised Harry Potter on the subway train. If that isn’t an inspiration for people to succeed, then I don’t know what is.

Why do so many foreigners feel entitled to comment on US politics, US border policies, US military policies and US domestic affairs? I realize the US is far bigger and far more interesting than England, but Rowling should look for things to mindlessly gripe about in her own country.

Yeah, she’s definitely living the dream of the celebrated writter. She had a family life and made it through college. Her leanest years were after school and her first marriage. But she does what many writers find it hard to do: crank out a lot of material that people want to read.

She became a success through hard work. I’ll applaud her for that.

Great post by CharlesWayneCT puts this silly kind of attack into perspective:

I saw a dead cat in the road today. My guess is someone’s cat got out of the house, and some car ran it over.

Trump didn’t tweet about it. I’m sure this is because he hates cats.

...”I’ve not seen the Harry Potter movies, thinking I’d do the books someday.
F that. This woman is drowning in hatred. I don’t want to read the fruits of that imagination.”...

Yes. The roots of hate begin with these celebrities and left wing media who push hate against our President and his family each and every day. They do not care who gets hurt from what they say and do because they are safe in their mansions, protected by men and devices with whatever is required to protect them. Some of them are ignorant enough to want revolution, thinking, quite falsely, that revolution would put them in place as the REAL puppet masters they long to be. Much of America is happy with the means to survive and rear their children day in and day out. It is the bored and unhappy rich who are not satisfied or grateful with what they have. So, many of them end up with hate to fill the void. My guess is that self-hatred projected onto others is the real culprit and only God can correct that.

Why doesn’t this woman STFU?! She should worry about her own country which has gone down the SEWER. Wonder how many Muslims have bought her book or seen her movies? Glad I never was interested in any of her Harry Potter crap. When the Muslims totally gain control she will probably be stoned to death because of it.
