Starbucks apparently does not include testing for latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) as part of the review and background check of potential employees.
"You want room for cream?"
YOU LEFT OUT HEPATITIS.
Germ warfare against America perpetrated by open border Quisling traitors.
Would you like a african black bean caffe mochiata with a sprinkling of tb, hmmmmm?
There was a time when cheap and marginalized coffee was the norm. Starbucks changed the dynamics and forced everyone to improve their coffee flavor. But here we are today, and it’s ridiculous now on the cost of coffee that you pay at Starbucks.
I sat and paid around 3.50 for a grande cup of just black ice tea last month. It was great tea, but it wasn’t worth the 3.50.
“..latent tuberculosis (TB) rate of 43 percent among refugees in San Diego County from sub-Saharan Africa ...”
Gee, this is brilliant. Let’s bring a whole bunch of semi-civilized, 7th century moslem barbarians, into OUR Country - you know, folks who don’t even TRY to assimilate - AND not quarantine them to isolate carriers of diseases that WE have already mostly eradicated for our people in the west...
I dunno.. it’s almost - almost, mind you - like someone (a certain muslim kenyan former president and his party) wanted to start an epidemic...
Almost, I say... because when I grew up, 1 + 1 equaled 2.
I guess now it equals “11”
Not just Somalis, and not just California.
A friend that works in Arizona public health said, they are seeing a large increase of infectious diseases moving north.
Do Starbucks staffers required to get a skin test for TB?
I thought all food service workers had to be tested?
What’s the deal?
Given this information, I would have to reconsider where to buy my coffee.
I imagine that this general information could affect their sales and profitability
It sounds more like a conflict of corporate ideology versus capitalism.
Eating their own with their own policies. This is why calexit would work.

What Latent TB is not - it’s not infectious to others the person with Latent TB comes in contact with.
What it does mean - about 10% of those with Latent TB will develop active TB down the road, and then become carries of infectious TB; 5% in the first two years and 0.1% a year thereafter, for many years. Once tested for Latent TB treatment for it is essential to risk it becoming active, infectious TB. Treatment is about 93% effective and the 7% where it is not effective may be due to variables in the health and lifestyle behavior of those treated.
If Starbucks did/does the responsible thing it will warn/has warned those who tested positive for Latent TB to get treatment for it.

It is not surprising at all that some migrants arrive with blood tests showing they have had exposure to some diseases in greater percentages than commonly found here. The standards of available identification, care & treatment of some diseases is far lower in some places than here.
On Ellis Island they tested as much as they could for those who had grave illnesses and when identified often rejected persons for immigration for those reasons. There should be no reason for us to have LOWER standards for immigration today.
Due to medical treatments, all of my childhood immunizations are no longer effective. Everyone is at risk for TB though. We should not be having so many issues with these decades old epidemic diseases. The anti vaxxers are not helping matters. Although I try and empathize with their rights, the consequences of their decisions are exacerbating the transfer of diseases.
