You seem to want people to be fired for expressing views you disagree with.

“You seem to want people to be fired for expressing views you disagree with.”

No, I want employers to be able to fire who ever they want for what ever reason.

Or we can have a government that dictates reasons you cannot fire a person.

What is your view?

Not the mot juste.
I do a good job of keeping off FR just berore retiring, but someimes I slip.

Should be easy to explain how government regulation of workplace speech leads to it’s regulation of public speech... from experience I think the big difficulty for people is the word ‘evidence’.

Public espousal of views that are not permitted in the workplace by the government puts one’s employer at financial risk.
It’s evidence that one has those views (so it’s circumstantial evidence that one may have expressed them at work), and- worse- circumstantial evidence that the employer knew of them.
That puts the employer behind the eightball if a EEOC or civil charge is made against them.

Not a lawyer.

“You may have the right to free speech, but you don’t have the right to a job.”

Actually, Colorado has a law that protects free speech. You can’t fire someone for activities outside of work. That’s called extortion. We protect free speech from employers thinking they own your actions.

“The government requires they be fired for their speech.
Otherwise their employers are subject to law suits and damages under equal employment right laws.”

Where in the world did you get that nonsense??

If you don't like the circumvention of First Amendment rights blame the EEOC, not me. Government regulates workplace speech and behavior.

“workplace speech “

You misinterpret workplace versus outside the workplace. They are NOT the same thing.

How nice for you!

One's public speech is public and can be used as evidence- including in EEOC or civil proceedings.

Those who are fired from their job for expressing their political views may be able to sue their employers for wrongful termination or violation of said Colorado law.

However, they will have to take the stand at the civil trial and explain to a jury why they were at that rally, carrying a torch and associating themselves with white supremacists.

They have that right.

I don’t know what makes you so stupid but it really works. Your ignorance and twisting of facts is astounding. The dumbing down of America is on show here.

That statement you quoted is only for statements made in relation to the employer, that’s it. This is why law school has the LSAT, to remove morons that twist facts into something they do not mean; morons without any reading comprehension.

Boy are you glad that that First Amendment can be bypassed!

Glad you’re thinking what you like to think.

Plaintiff: “He was mean to me because of my race!”
Defendant: “No I wasn’t!”
Plaintiff lawyer: “What about these statements you made at this ‘Other Races Stink’ march? I’ll read them...”

“Boy are you glad that that First Amendment can be bypassed!”

It is not being bypassed.

If you believe your First Amendment rights have been violated, you can have your case heard at a public trial.

I can't fire trannies or Muslims even if I disagree with the former's sodomy and the latter's goat ****ing.

Homosexuals and Muslims are protected classes under state anti-discrimination laws that prevent firing based on religion or sexual orientation. Nazi is not a protected class in any state I'm aware of.

Nazi?

So you can fire socialists for their beliefs? That’s great news!
