Macomb Man In Fear For Life After Mistakenly Identified As Deadly Driver From White Nationalist Rally In Virgina
A Michigan man is facing death threats after being wrongly identified on several alt-right websites as the owner and driver of a car that drove into a crowd in Charlottesville, Virginia, Saturday. Jerome Vangheluwo, of Macomb County, was once the owner of the Dodge involved in the deadly crash at yesterdays rally but sold the car in 2012 to a dealership.
Now he and his son are facing threats after their names, home address and pictures have been circulated online.
Michigan State Police issued a statement on Twitter regarding this misinformation:
.2) Local media if you are contacted by other outlets there is not a Michigan connection that we are aware of at this time.

The suspected driver behind the wheel of the Dodge involved in yesterdays attack has now been identified by authorities as 20-year-old James Alex Fields Junior of Maumee, Ohio.
A total of three people died in the clashes which escalated with the car driving into the crowd of counter-protesters.
Feel the love from the left.
“Vangheluwo says that he does not feel safe in his home and that the state police has told him that if there is any vandalism to his home he should sell it, change his phone numbers and his social media IDs.”
No, he should exercise his right to defend himself since the police have abdicated law and order in Virginia.
Guess all of the haters aren’t just on one side.
...and Michigan, too.
Effing internet mobs.
I’ve sometimes wondered what it would be like to sell a car and learn years later it had been used in some horrible crime.....
Fortunately I have not had that experience, at least nothing has been presented to my attention.
When are the people on the left going to denounce this? (Not holding breath)
3 died in the clashes? I count 2 troopers in the copter crash and the girl killed by the car. Nobody died in any clashes that I know of.
A total of three people died in the clashes...
***Maumee, Ohio. ***
Didn’t Steve Canyon have some super secret job at Maumee University? For those who remember...

So the ALT RIGHT is at fault for wrongly ID him and they are also launching death threats towards them?
WAIT A MINUTE! They may be responsible for falsely IDing them, but it is the Deadly Left who are trying to kill them.
Damn, just damn
Wow! Here is a totally innocent victim of another man's irrational behavior. He now faces the costs of selling his home, the inconvenience of changing his phone numbers and social media IDs and someone actually attacking him and his family. Without the rule of law, this country will go down the drain. Anyone threatening Vangheluwo, perpetrating lies against him and doing property damage, should be dealt with by law enforcement quickly.
I sold a boat and 20 (twenty!) years later I got a huge bill for government costs of recovery of a derelict vessel.
Wasn’t this guy identified by 4Chan internet sleuths as a lefty and the incident was thus possibly a false flag operation?
And what happened when you told the government you sold it?
Did you not have proof of sale?
This guy was outed on social media on the evening after the car hit the crowd, and immediately defended himself by saying he is in Michigan, not Ohio.
On social media, a lot of people urged caution. I told my son that it is possible he could have sold the car and the title was not properly transferred.
Once the driver of the car was arrested, some of the people who had outed this Jerome Vangheluwo as the driver retracted their social media postings naming him. I guess not everyone got the message.
He should post prominently on his Facebook page that the car driver was James Alex Fields Jr., and that he was nowhere near the incident. It may be unpleasant now, but the uproar will die down, probably in a few days.
