Personally, I've never been very impressed by the, "He's mentally" excuse.
It's fairly consistently trotted out as a defense for ISIS terrorists who go on rampages in Europe. The French authorities have already announced that the driver who rammed his car into a pizzeria killing a little girl is not a terrorist, but suffers from mental illness. It's unknown as of this moment if he's Muslim, but a number of past Muslim terrorists have had a history of mental illness.
But the media left is fairly selective in taking that into account.

The guy was dumb and unstable, but he had to have understood that he was attacking what he percieved as enemies with deadly force when they were simply walking in the street. So he was indeed commiting an act of terror.
I agree. But there is much more going on here.
Are you aware that event, Jason Kessler, the organizer of the rally in Charlottesville is a former Occupy Wall Street activist and supporter of Barack Obama.
There is a difference between dissociative identity disorder (more than one personality) and schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a thought disorder. Usually these folks are not able to mobilize themselves well enough to do much of anything, especially if they are on antipsychotics.
One does not need to be Muslim to be a terrorist.
It’s no joke, but it is possible to be both clinically nuts and legally sane at the time of a criminal act.
The chopper that had the two policmen that said that they should not side with Antifa? Maybe they knew the inner decision making that could blow this false flag wide open.
Your peddling some left wing BS here and you look foolish .
We don't have a police report and your ranting about
terrorism when it looks looks just another isolated sorry young loner with serious mental issues stuck in a race riot and freaked.
Or it could have even been a counter-op guy that thought McC was in the chopper.
While we may disagree, my guess is that a Charlottesville jury will come to an agreement at his criminal trial.
And the only view that matters is the view of that jury made up of Charlottesville voters.
I’m deeply torn on this matter. He’s at the age where really dangerous symptoms of pschizophrenia start popping but that doesn’t excuse his actions. On the other hand I have the feeling that he needs to spend his life in a mental institution rather than a jail. There are very few good options for handling basic mental illness in this country never mind the criminally insane.
As usual you seem to be doing what should be impossible: talking out of your a**.
Not guilty by reason of insanity: n. plea in court of a person charged with a crime who admits the criminal act, but whose attorney claims he/she was so mentally disturbed at the time of the crime that he/she lacked the capacity to have intended to commit a crime.
Such a plea requires that the court set a trial on the issue of insanity alone either by a judge without a jury or by a jury.
A finding of insanity will result in a verdict of “not guilty,” but, if the condition still exists, it may result in incarceration in a mental facility for the criminally insane or confinement in a mental hospital.
If the insanity no longer exists (was temporary insanity), the judge has the option to require some psychological therapy, but the treatment varies from state to state. This is not the same as insane at time of trial and thus incompetent to stand trial, which will postpone trial (in all likelihood forever) pending recovery while the defendant is confined to mental facility. (See: not guilty, incompetent, insanity, insanity defense, temporary insanity)
A crime is the joint union of act an intent. A crime requires mens rea: a person’s awareness of the fact that his or her conduct is criminal, is the mental element, and actus reus, the act itself, is the physical element.
Punishing a crazy person is like shoving someone on crutches out of the way because you want that Big Mac, NOW.
You’re just determined that this guy gets the needle, aren’t you, for whatever reason.
So, let’s just start smothering cripples, brain-dead people and those with Downs syndrome?
Every time I see one of your posts, it’s something out of left field. What are you, noob? Shareblue? Go troll somewhere else.
“Not guilty by reason of insanity...”
That will be up to a Charlottesville jury.
Yeas it is a good article. Maybe not conclusively schizophrenic but definitely psychotic. And meds don’t necessarily help.
I think you’re likely right. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find his social media presence. I guess Zuckerberg must have taken down his FB page, as he does for all the leftists.
You’re right! I remember that tactic..but not the term.. kind of like the Taliban sending in an animal with expolsives... “Mule” maybe?
I think O’Keefe got a guy named Creamer to admit it. I think he was also found on the Obama White House visitor logs.
Maybe the autists over at 4chan can dive into this.
Might not have needed a mentor to goad him on, he may have watched some recent news online- all those European terror attacks using vehicles, and got the idea from that.
It’s not unusual for the bigoted white types to be antisemitic as well, and sympathetic of muslim terrorists. McVeigh was sympathetic with Iraq’s leader Saddam...
One white group took Saddam up on a paid trip to Iraq to put on a street theater show there.
So it’s possible the guy got the idea from observing muslim terrorists.
Schizophrenia is a real disease and a relatively common one, the manifestations of which can vary widely from case to wecase and over time. Many aren't active threats to others, but a subset become significant threats. There was an old term for such sad cases, 'Dangerous Lunatics.' They can't exercise responsibility for their own behavior. We sane folks must exercise responsibility over them to protect ourselves. We should do so kindly and wisely but we cannot abdicate that responsibility. It remains whether or not we exercise it.
Under JFK, liberal 'do gooders' were so impressed by then new miracle drugs which appeared to help schizophreniacs they thought the old mental hospitals were no longer needed. In hindsight those drugs, and those that followed them, haven't been as miraculous as hoped. Closer, earlier supervision and even institutionalization is needed for a subset of patients. It may even save costs by keeping some out of the even more expensive penal system. Research for better medical treatments should continue as a true cure of schizophrenia would be one of the most economically valuable medical advances in history.
Yes, the media does use the mantle of, sometimes very loosely defined, 'mental illness' to excuse some of the violence coming from its side and from its muslim friends. Give that there is a genetic component to schizophrenia and given the culturally endorsed centuries of cousin marriage in the muslim world it wouldn't surprise me if the true incidence of schizophrenia were higher therein than in the West. To a degree truly schizophrenic dangerous muslims deserve sympathy like non-muslim schizophrenics. But we shouldn't overlook that the muslim religion intentionally weaponizes its lower functioning members for martyrdom fodder. Having a lot of lower IQ or mentally ill followers is a significant resource for muslim leaders trying to expand their power. Whereas the same would be an heartily accepted burden of responsibility for Christians, who are taught to protect and nurture the weak rather than to employ them as suicide bombers. That difference needs to be stressed. The higher functioning enablers of muslim schizophrenic jihadi's, and the muslim religious design itself needs to be blamed and held responsible for the results of their malicious guidance to their mentally ill members.
