Remember, the most accomplished liars weave some truth into their product. Remember in the Book of Genesis, satan never said ‘God is a fraud so worship me.’ Instead, he first subtly asked Eve if God had actually forbidden them to eat the fruit. Then he built on that doubt that he created in Eve.
Look to the lies that MadMo swallowed, and spread. There are some good ideas (alms for the poor, maintaining sobriety, etc.), but these Godly ideas are surrounded and imbedded within lies. Over a billion believe these lies.
