Ever get the feeling that maybe we saved the wrong Germany?
I don’t see much future for the Americans ... it’s a decayed country. And they have their racial problem, and the problem of social inequalities ...
my feelings against Americanism are feelings of hatred and deep repugnance ...
everything about the behaviour of American society reveals that it’s half Judaised, and the other half negrified.
How can one expect a State like that to hold together?
Adolf Hitler, Hitler’s Secret Conversations, 1941-1944
“as entrenched as hot dogs and baseball”
Maybe you haven’t been to the US lately. The fact that Sanders was even a viable candidate in the last election tells all.
And how much of the government budgets (fed, state, local) go towards social programs?
I thought Europe was actually more socialist than the US is currently.
The German gene pool was severely depleted because the enterprising liberty seeking freedom loving Germans emigrated to America
The Opinion Of Germany means so much.........
Germany’s opinion on anything is basically worthless. Twice they tried to push their superior views on the world with dubious consequences. They need a three century time-out from the global stage.
Free speech is on the decline in Germany. Can anyone — Bolton? McCain? — explain why German America-haters are seen as our friends while we are making an enemy of Russia?
Remember the economic theory behind Spanish, Italian and German fascism was always that government, while not owning outright, would be involved in almost all private enterprise especially big corporations. Stockholders and private owners had to accept this arrangement. It seemed to them a better alternative than what was happening in Russia. Eventually the corporations learned to accept the intertwinement and adhered to government policies. Today major corporations in the EU still adhere to that policy. Here in the US it should be noted that these corporations not only adhere to government rules, regulations and directives but in many instances ( ie Google, Yahoo, Microsoft Tesla) try to limit speech and modify employee attitudes and behavior in a politically correct manner. Every year there is less free capitalism in the US as the economy is mired in the swamp. Less freedom, less production of real wealth, less prosperity, less real social justice.
Yes, capitalism works, but it is rather unpleasant.
Socialism would be much nicer if it worked; unfortunately, it doesn’t.
Don’t worry about German opinion on anything; they have lost the will to exist as a people and will be departing the scene of history in a generation or two.
People who want socialism really want slaves to do their work because they think that they themselves will be in the ruling class.
I don’t believe this, or for that matter most studies that ask for opinions on economic matters. Most people here and in Germany couldn’t give you a good description of the difference between capitalism, socialism or communism. I have spent 50 years working with and for Germans. I lived there and have had many discussions on their system and ours. Theirs is more socialistic than ours, but that is because they started many of the welfare programs that exist. They have a history of living regulated lives going back to the middle ages. They accept that as a fact of life.
However when presented with entrepreneurial opportunity they jump at it. And they are good business people. I say individual capitalism is alive and well there.
Capitalism that is administered by the state is just as bad as any other state run system. Look at China.
Germany is always wrong.
-Dennis Prager
The “social democrats” inherited Hitler’s “nationalist” socialism, with its tidy government-corporate relationships and its welfare state, rejecting only Hitler’s racism and imperialism. It is no surprise that attitudes today about capitalism in Germany are ambivalent at best or negative at worst.
