Authorities Find No Evidence in Damond's Home
5 Eyewitness News - ABC ^ | 8/15/17

Court documents show that authorities found nothing when they searched the home of Justine Ruszczyk Damond shortly after an officer fatally shot her.

Damond called for police assistance July 15 because she believed she had heard a sexual assault taking place in the alley behind her house. Mohamed Noor, one of the two responding officers, shot her. He has declined to be interviewed by investigators.

Hours later, police obtained a search warrant for Damond's house and checked inside for blood, hair, guns, ammunition, knives, drugs or writings. They took nothing from the home. The Damond family attorney, Bob Bennett, says the search was appropriate.

Bureau of Criminal Apprehension spokeswoman Jill Oliveira said there could have been clues in the house to explain what happened.

Just you or me decline to be interviewed in a homicide...

Yeah, I'll try that next time.

Most important of all, they have to admit in court testimony that they didn't find anything -- and this may have huge legal ramifications down the road.

That does look like something that could now pose a problem for the shooter, but I'm not yet convinced that there will even be a trial.

Evidence of what? Jesus the cops are lame. Has the dusky prick who shot her been charged yet? The country is in far worse shape than could be imagined.

I'm guessing evidence of the members of her household setting up a police ambush.

Remember, the current explanation is that the officer was spooked by a sound coming from nearby. They will say they were looking for evidence that they were being set up, like guns in the house or anti-police screeds. Her side would say that if there was a sound, it was the person she called the police about, that is, a sexual assaulter hiding in the nearby alley.

Did they EVER investigate the alleged rape that prompted the call? Has a victim or witness ever come forward? With all of the publicity you would they someone would talk....

I'm sorry the killer cop is still breathing, much less still employed.

That's a very interesting question. One of the strange things is that when the transcripts of the police communications were released, right after the victim was shot, one of the cops called for an ambulance and when dispatch asked if there were "suspects at large", the response was "no suspects at large". What about the initial reason for the call?

Unless the cops were the suspects and they killed her for what she witnessed. [wild speculation]

I would like to see the full report. For instance, there should have been powder residue on the inside of the drivers door of the police car IF he shot her from inside the car.

"So now being shot by police is “probable cause” sufficient to obtain a warrant to search your home for “whatever”?"

Nobody was looking to charge the dead person with a crime. A search is just that, a search. It may not turn up anything. But if you are conducting an investigation you might want to look in any place where information might be found. You don't have to know in advance.

Every police officer who participated in the murder or the raid on the residence needs to at least lose his job as does the judge who authorized the warrant and the agent who requested it.

I suspect a little bit of SJS was involved in the Damond murder.

There would have been powder residue all over the cop who was the driver.

What might have been found that would justify the murder? What could Miss Damond have had in her residence that would justify that? The paynim guy easily justifies it in his own mind because she was an infidel woman improperly dressed and not in the company of a male relative daring to speak first to a strange man. His Holy Book justifies it, nay, demands it. In his mind she was guilty of half a dozen counts deserving death and the law he observes makes any Moslem the rightful executioner.
