The Interior Department wont be removing monuments to Confederate soldiers at national battlefields that are an important part of our countrys history, according to a spokesman.
The National Park Service is committed to safeguarding these memorials while simultaneously educating visitors holistically and objectively about the actions, motivations and causes of the soldiers and states they commemorate, spokesman Jeremy Barnum told E&E News.

In other news, Trump won't allow the books in the Library of Congress to be burned, won't allow the re-naming of our capital from Washington D.C. to Farrakhan D.C., and won't allow the Jefferson Memorial to be bulldozed by Black Lives Matter criminals.

I hope he holds fast here. The media and the left smell blood, so they will use this perceived weak point in Trump's presidency to go full bore on this dismantling of history crusade they are on right now.
Not that anyone will ask this of the dems, but if removing all of these confederate symbols from Federal property is so important; why wasn't it done under Obama?

It’s a battlefield. This implies that there was more than one side involved. If you remove every vestige of one side of the battle, then you have essentially wiped away the event itself as if it never happened. We are on a slippery slope with this nonsense.

I know a couple of Confederate Battle Grounds they don’t want to mess with.

That must be why Obama didn’t remove them.

Obama didn’t remove those Confederate monuments because the thought didn’t occur to him. And nobody brought it up. If he (or Hillary) were president today, those monuments would be in storage by now.

Don’t be fooled. Leaving democrat monuments up at National parks is about tourism dollars. Who, of southern heritage, would visit Gettysburg to see monuments of republicans of the civil war?

Here’s raising a toast in honor of the soldiers of both sides of that momentous conflict, the Civil War/War Between the States. May they rest in peace in graves that will never be desecrated.
