To paraphrase a famous quote from the 60’s, “Suppose they gave a Super Bowl and nobody came?”
Don’t they get it? It isn’t wise to sabotage one’s own career. Pissing off the people who pay money to watch a sport is hurting their own paychecks.
Personally, I hate football, but I know there are thousands of patriotic football lovers who will be disappointed.
