ONE Nation leader Pauline Hanson has turned up to Parliament wearing a full burqa.

Pictures from the Senate on Thursday afternoon show Ms Hanson calmly taking her place in the chamber wearing the full body covering.

The noted critic of Islam reportedly identified herself to security before entering the chamber.

Gasps of “what on earth?” could be heard from the Senate as she sat down. Attorney General George Brandis looked bemused by the spectacle.

In a statement on her Facebook page the Senator she had attended Question Time “dressed modestly in a full burqa” and will later deliver a speech calling for the Government to ban full face coverings in public.

“Senator Hanson said that she believed that full face covering, such as the burqa, were oppressive, presented barriers to assimilation, disadvantaged women from finding employment, were causing issues inside our justice system, presented a clear security threat and had no place in modern Western society,” the statement read.

The stunt comes just days after the Trump administration called out Hanson for her anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Article concerns the Australian Parliament - I meant to put that in the header, but got distracted.

Well good for her I guess. She got her point across.
Did POTUS criticize her, though?

Not the President himself, but some report issued by your Secretary of State a few days ago, apparently criticised her stance, while praising the more ‘moderate’ positions of our Prime Minister.

"Hanson has also suggested “these people” who wear burqas “should go to a country that suits their needs”.

Scary looking garb. I keep wishing our mental health “experts” would do a study on the effects this has on children. Burqa, pure insanity IMHO.

Actually, in a culture that can rape a woman out without a man or in non-slave garb I would be more worried about the mental health of the women who have to endure these barbaric was of life. Can you even imagine how they are treated at home, their only supposed refuge without recourse. Consider all the bad things done to girls and women in a post-Christian culture with refuges for abused women in most cities where they culturally are not owned by the men in society.

What is a beekeeper in this discussion? Real question.

Beekeepers wear similar attire - although it is usually white, and is better sealed.

I believe the comment was a stab at humor. (Humor appears to be bleeding now)

Except that beekeepers don’t force their garb on others and throw acid in the faces of those who refuse to comply.
