The word in cville was that the police helicopter was flying cover for the governor who was monitoring the event near the city. If this was true, was the governor was waiting for a his glory in stopping the event? Was this part of his stepping stone for a run at the presidency? Three dead in Virginia college town will put a damper on that dream if he is wrangled into this mess.
One of the State Police who died in the helicopter crash just recently (July) left the governors personal security detail.
It is a good bet that the helicopter was being used as an intelligence platform for the governor.
It is reasonable to conclude that McAuliffe orchestrated, monitored, and controlled the operation in Charlottesville.
That 3 people died from the incompetence of such a governor with the political ambition, but without good sense and decency should be no surprise.
The Virginia governorship has been the path of carpetbaggers with presidential ambition for a while since it is term limited and is off-year - perfect training for someone with no governmental executive experience. Our present Senator “horse teeth” Warner was another one just like McAuliffe.
