Medicated Kids (A short vanity)

Posted on 08/19/2017 6:04:17 PM PDT by JennysCool

I remember a LOT of discussion during the '80s and '90s about what was going to happen in the future to the kids whose parents were feeding them mood-altering drugs like Ritalin to calm the little hellions down.

Are we seeing the results right now?

Could be.

There are many more truly sicko out of control scary kids in school. Don’t know if that’s due to parents’ who abused prescriptions or lack of discipline or what.

It’s also “popular” to have a child on meds. It’s also common that mama sneaks the kids’ meds for her own use without anyone knowing. Not saying some kids don’t need meds but the vast majority don’t, imo.

Could be that kids are inside 24/7 with all sorts of chemicals affecting their brains and no fresh air.

Instead of developing through a childhood or adolescent phase these drugs are often given to those who do not need to be on them and they are prescribed without any “exit strategy”.

Medicated kids, medicated adults, medicated seniors. BAD news.

HOORAY to unmedicated citizens of the U.S.A.

Just speculating, but a couple of generations of mood-altered kids bombarded with leftist indoctrination could sure make for a heckuva Antifa.

Troubled children are merely amplified projections of their parent's personality disorders. Medicating them is another form of shaken baby syndrome; smothering a crying infant instead of paying attention to find out what it's crying about. Parents send their kids away to school instead of having the patience to pay attention to them and raise them themselves. This rejection and separation causes emotional trauma which strangers (the statists) take advantage of. Drugs are only a temporary, sure-to-fail method of compensating for the tremendous internal imbalance caused by uninvolved, failing parents. That's that part of it I see having gone through and recovered from it personally. That's where the conservative workaholic class have failed their families and society. This doesn't address the insurgency of communism in the U.S.

The drugs caused young boys to more easily be turned into gutless subservient zombies who prioritize removing body hair over developing positive character traits and vote like eunuchs. I buy it. They wanted to drug my son. I throttled his 6th grade teacher for wanting to do this. Today I would go to jail for doing this, and I would still do it again.

I have been medication, prescription drug free for two years because I concluded I was done with stress and chose to confront the painful, emotional problems that were the source of my trouble.

Nailed it. Drugged kids are open to suggestion.

That’s a good question and one I hadn’t thought of.

We may very well be seeing this.

Congratulations!

I have been off toxic meds for 3 weeks now, thanks to the passage of recreational marijuana in Nevada. The side affects from the meds were horrid. I now have my life back!

Officials are surprised to see so many seniors now using marijuana instead of pain killers.

I hadn’t either. Just occurred to me today. But what those kids would be like as adults was a BIG topic when Ritalin and the other “kid drugs” burst on the market.

Eisenhower warned of a “military-industrial complex”.

We have become enslaved to a medical-pharmaceutical complex.

Are there ANY commercial TV shows without at least one commercial for a prescription med every “break”?

And now the lawyers are chirping in with if you took ________ and have experienced __________ or, or etc etc, Contact us for a class action suit.

My grandson had declared he wanted to go in CG after HS and his mother informed me he had to wait at least till he was 18 (she wasn’t going to sign him in) and be off Ritalin(??) for at least 2 years(??)

I hit the roof, had been seeing him in mood changes his last couple of years playing ball and had advised her against getting him on that crap earlier.
So I guess this is what was ‘happening’ to him.

Do the schools or parents get compensated for kids on this crap?

Im on the downhill slide toward 78 and am not nor have been on ANY prescription drugs. Of course I don’t go to Doctors so they can’t load me up/down.

I get a kick out of people 10-15 years younger than me telling me I better see Doctors... Oh yeah all of them have had some kind of medical problem.

If I were to drop dead tomorrow morning I figure I have gotten about 50 years more than I thought I would get.

When my kids were a lot younger, I remember one boy in Sunday School was so drugged up, he was like a zombie. I remember the Mom telling me he took a pill to relax during the day and another to make him go to sleep at night.

No? Why?

I’m seeing the results now in the present.
I was on trazodone for sleep issues—it caused me to walk in my sleep. I was on Hydrocodoneacetamediphen for Sciatica.

I use it only at night, 10 minutes before I want to fall asleep. No more sleep walking. No more going outside and making messes in the kitchen. I can keep my appliances plugged in now-had to unplug them so I wouldn’t use them in my sleep.

I could not get on medical M. because the two locations were in no go areas of Vegas.

It is a miracle for me. In my location, seniors are a big part of the customer base, according to my lying eyes.

"Officials are surprised to see so many seniors now using marijuana instead of pain killers."

Some younger "officials" might be surprised, but older ones shouldn't be. Many of the addicts of the '60s and '70s are getting old--that is, those haven't died in wrecks, suicides, overdoses, of emphysema, alcoholism, lung cancer,... Very few dope smoking Baby Boomers quit getting high.

My son turned age 31 this week after earning his MBA at UT Dallas in marketing the year before and just completed his first stellar year doing marketing plans for a major beer distributor in the Dallas area making more than I did in my last job when I went out on disability at age 50 17 years ago.

He finished high school in Plano TX in the disciplinary locked unit reserved for the druggies and mental cases, because he was both!

He was also incapable of functioning in an academic setting without being properly medicated for his severe ADHD.

When he finally settled down and after being tested for his attention disability (and going off his meds and going to Hawaii to pick pineapples for a semester before wising up) in Collin Community College he earned straight A’s and was awarded a full scholarship for 5 semesters at SMU where he completed his undergraduate degree in business with honors.

So, yes, kids can be on Ritalin/Adderall for years and survive. My son is very spiritual, brilliant and successful considering all that he has been through!
